A construction business development manager

identifies new projects and clients, builds client relationships, and develops strategic plans to drive company growth and revenue

. Key responsibilities include market research, lead generation, managing bid proposals, negotiating contracts , and collaborating with internal teams. Essential skills for this role are strong communication, negotiation, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to sales and business growth.


Key Responsibilities



Business Growth & Client Acquisition:

Identify new business opportunities, generate qualified leads, and acquire new clients for the company.

Market Research & Strategy:

Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities to inform strategic planning.

Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current clients and key stakeholders.

Proposal & Bid Management:

Oversee the construction bid and proposal process, including reviewing bids and negotiating contract terms.

Networking & Representation:

Represent the company at networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the business development and sales teams, coordinating with other departments to support company goals. *

Performance Analysis:

Assess wins and losses on bids to refine future selling strategies.
