The Role: As part of the Business Development Program, you will have the opportunity to work with small and mid-sized travel businesses that may benefit from Sojern\xe2\x80\x99s media products and solutions in the fast-paced, online, travel-advertising environment. You will play a critical role within the company as a talented hunter that excels at researching, qualifying, prospecting leads & booking sales pitch meetings for the sales team. Sojern BDRs initiate exploratory calls with prospects to see if they\'d be an ideal customer. They need to know their product and service offerings inside and out so they can communicate their purpose and value to prospective customers. If the prospect is a good fit, the BDR will schedule a discovery call or meeting for a member of their sales team and the prospect. It\'s up to the salesperson to deepen the relationship with the prospect and eventually get them to close.
Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently utilize Salesforce, with Sojern\xe2\x80\x99s architecture and guidelines
  • Identify and investigate leads, qualifying them using online research to establish prospects and corresponding contact info.
  • Engage qualified and interested leads by making a minimum of 50 cold calls a day to book appointments and drive sales presentations for the Sales Managers.
  • Meet monthly goals by excelling on the phone, in both activity and presence.
  • Understand SMB\xe2\x80\x99s products, services and value proposition and positioning.
  • Keep up-to-date on industry trends and the competition\xe2\x80\x99s positioning within the marketplace.

What you bring to the table:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (preferred in business, marketing, or a related field)
  • At least 2 years of sales experience required.
  • Experience in handling ANZ/Oceania market (is preferred).
  • Proficient in English (secondary language such as: Filipino, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese is a plus) to be able to successfully prospect, engage & book pitches for Australia, New Zealand, Hongkong, Macau, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam and Maldives.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls), good negotiation and listening skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for phone and email-based outreach.
  • High energy with a positive attitude.
  • Someone who thinks outside the box, when it comes to finding ways to prospect new potential customers.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Hands-on experience using Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • Global mindset & working style as you will be assigned to multiple diverse markets.
  • Self starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role.
  • Interest in (Travel, Hospitality, or Digital Advertising)
  • Experience reaching or exceeding (weekly/monthly) activity goals/quotas.
  • Strategic mindset and shows independence in developing strategies for assigned market territory.
