About Our Client

Our Client is a renowned utilities group specialising in energy solutions. With a great expertise in sustainable energy solutions and distribution of support services, they aim to maintain and improve their current performance both locally and regionally of which they are seeking for a Category Management Procurement Director to be based at their HQ in Singapore.

You will be reporting to the Head of Procurement directly. The majority of your responsibilities will include managing, directing and supporting the Procurement organization for category management.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Leading category management such as facilities, equipment, services and consultancy-related contracts
  • To develop category strategies and initiatives to meet the company\'s specific business objectives and category objectives
  • To identify and rationalize product ranges and standardize specifications with various stakeholders
  • To ensure that a sound cost base is achieved through effective supplier negotiations, by analyzing and planning appropriately
  • To manage commodity portfolios to hedge against price fluctuations across commodity groups
  • To maximize Procurement\'s impact by ensuring early engagement in significant spend areas / new projects
  • To ensure that acceptable service levels are maintained across the business units by establishing and maintaining service level agreements and performance metrics
  • To ensure maximum benefit is driven by peer relationships between Category Managers in the Procurement team
  • To ensure an equal balance between commercial delivery and internal service by building relationships and working continuously with key stakeholders
  • To provide support, knowledge and direction for the category across the Procurement organisation

The Successful Applicant

You should have a Degree in Engineering/ Supply Chain / Logistics / related disciplines and have significant years of related working experience in Procurement. It is essential that you have people management skills and leading a team. You must possess very strong leadership, communication and influencing skills; with strong knowledge of procurement sourcing strategies, tendering processes and contract management. Familiarity with SAP and NPI would be an added advantage.
