Chief Financial Officer Job Overview: The CFO is a key member of the senior management team with responsibility for the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial health. The role combines both operational and strategic traits, managing the accounting and financial control functions, and establishing and developing a financial and commercial strategy to guide key business initiatives for the profitable ling-term growth of the business. The CFO will oversee all financial aspects of business and drive the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial strategy and planning, and will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and other senior management stakeholders to provide the financial and commercial perspective to ensure company growth plans represent sound financial decisions, and help shape and enable strategic initiatives to advance the company\xe2\x80\x99s objectives. The incumbent will recommend funding sources for investment programs and calculate the likely return on investment. The CFO will also evaluate the financial potential and risk of merger and acquisition plans. To fulfil this role, the CFO must have versatility and talent to meet a continually changing set of circumstances, with the goal to guide the company towards profitability and success. Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Group\xe2\x80\x99s full spectrum of accounting and finance activities including financial and management reporting, treasury, compliance, taxation and budgeting and forecasting;
  • Work closely with the top management in a reporting and advisory capacity on the Group\xe2\x80\x99s performance;
  • Oversee audit, tax and corporate secretarial matters for all companies in the Group;
  • Ensure timely compliance to all statutory (including SGX), accounting, tax reporting and disclosure requirements;
  • Oversee treasury function and manage cash flow, treasury and investment activities;
  • Advise on tax planning and lead on all tax related matters;
  • Advise on financial systems improvements and make recommendations;
  • Review current internal controls and suggest process improvements to strengthen the control processes;
  • Work closely with the senior management team in corporate transactions such as acquisitions, divestments, etc.;
  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals;
  • Other ad-hoc duties / projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accountancy or other professional accounting qualifications;
  • Professional certification (Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant) is necessary;
  • At least 15 years of experience in broad range of finance and accounting activities within a large organization with overseas subsidiaries, and have held senior appointments as Financial Controller or Finance Director;
  • High levels of commercial acumen and strategic focus that helps the business accelerate growth.
  • Experience with SGC listed companies is preferred;
  • Prior experience or knowledge in the shipping or logistics industry an added advantage although not mandatory;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills;
  • Energy and desire to succeed, pushes self and others to deliver exceptional results.

  • Corporate financial law and risk management: In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices. An expert on current financial topics related to the Tech, Maritime and Real Estate industry and business models.
  • Functional finance expertise: Rich experience of financial management, analysis, reporting and business planning with strong strategic, analytical and finance skills.
  • Commercial acumen: Consistently applies ingenuity, strategic thinking, and discipline to discover, prioritize, and realize revenue opportunities for our client.
  • Leadership: Builds and leads high performing, resilient and diverse teams. Unites and mobilizes effective teams around a common purpose with space to grow through feedback and coaching.
  • Finance Processes Transformation/Optimization: Demonstrated expertise in transforming and optimizing finance processes to enhance operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and improve overall financial performance.
  • Strategic decision making and action: Leads and makes timely decisions with the bigger picture and long-term in mind, taking care of the business today while actively preparing for meet future goals.
  • Team Management/Development: Extensive experience in team management and development, nurturing talent, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
  • Relationship management: Building trusting and lasting relationships with stakeholders and colleagues; creating a network of connections and building credibility and rapport at all levels of the business.
