We are currently seeking an experienced operations professional to handle the Trade finance related processing functions in a global bank environment for the Singapore market. The successful applicant will be an outstanding trade professional looking for opportunities to step up. Responsibilities:

• Able to check Import and/or Export document under LC/SBLC.
• Conversant with trade related commercial rules and able to provide solution or explanation to client in relation to UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98, URR725, URC522
• Highlight irregularities and red flag items for credit/risks approval.
• Well versed in handling and checking of commodities LCs and documents.
• Responsible for the oversight of the doc checking team.
• Exhibits full knowledge and thorough understanding of the Trade Operations functions.
• Support his/her manager on day to day Operations.
• Support Global, Regional and Local initiatives to drive efficiencies, productivity and process improvements
• Work closely with JPM Trade partners domestically and globally to facilitate transactions.
• Recognize and drive regional improvement opportunities arising from local situations
• Ensure all operation procedures are in compliance with industry and legal regulatory rules and guidelines both locally and globally.
• Ensure sufficient internal controls and procedures to minimize risk - able to drive the risks and controls agenda including working with his team/manager and OCM on external and internal audit/regulatory reviews/inspections
• Work with product and sales and formalize solutions towards customer requirements.
• Facilitate new deals, access operational feasibility on complex trade deals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• At least 8 years of trade experience especially in doc checking and able to lead the doc check team is a must
• Understanding of and experience in Commercial LC Products, Standby and Supply Chain Finance (SCF) products is required
• Proven team lead experience would be an advantage
• Ability to use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to motivate and build a cohesive team for achieving local goals and objectives
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients both verbal and written
• Good understand of industry practices
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
• Fast learner of various trade applications/systems
• Well versed in Excel and PowerPoint
• Full understanding of Global Trade business, operations and technology strategy
• Willingness to take ownership and accountability to deliver business goals - execution to achieve specific desired results.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities and promptly initiate action and escalate potential risks to minimize loss
• Adaptability in maintaining standards and adjusting effectively to operate within new work structures, processes or requirements
• Ability to effectively address and manage conflict
• Ability to communicate pro-actively and openly with internal and external business partners.
• Strong Risks and Controls mindset. Proven track record in handling audits and regulatory requirements.
• Strong team player and be able to work with functional partners/stakeholders to deliver results.
• Resourceful and able to work effectively as an individual as well as in a team
