Location/Division Specific Information

Location: You will be based in Singapore and working with customers and distributors in South East Asia and Taiwan (SEATW) region. The role requires regular internaltional travel (up to 50%) to customer sites, external and internal events.

Division: The Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division (CSD) is leading the global democratization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) to accelerate translational research and improve clinical outcomes.

The division is positioned around three core pillars including: winning in oncology, driving focused growth in translational research that will advance into the clinic, and expanding into applied markets including reproductive health and more. With our easily-adoptable end-to-end Ion Torrent sequencing technologies running central to each of these pillars, we are turning rapid, turnkey in-house testing for decentralized community hospitals and precision diagnostics into a reality.

Join us as a Clinical Application Consultant (CAC) - this dynamic position involves providing scientific training, consultancy, application support and troubleshooting to our customers mainly in oncology-related NGS clinical diagnostics.

A day in the Life:

Support clinical market on the operation of Thermo Fisher Scientific / Ion Torrent Next-Generation Sequencing product portfolio with focus on oncology

Provide scientific application support & training support to our clinical customers contributing substantially to customer satisfaction

Lead the implementation of assays, products & clinical solutions within customer sites

Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers or potential influencers

Manage and solve customer escalations effectively through in-depth troubleshooting

Support sales in the achievement of the regional sales target by delivering product line specific pre- and post-sales related customer support activities

Maintain relationships with key Thermo Fisher Scientific collaborating partners.

Keys to Success:

Education

MSc and/or PhD preferred (or equivalent experience in science) in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Life Sciences or similar.

Experience

Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Sequencing technology is required.

Experience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal form.

Previous experience in a support / training-related position is desired.

Customer-facing experience is desired.

Strong communications and presenting skills are essential

Strong commercial attitude is essential

Analytical mind with strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems

Good computer and IT skills with interest for groundbreaking technologies

Willingness to travel within territory (estimated up to 50%)

Proficient in English
