Climate Impact X (CIX) is a Singapore-based global carbon exchange and marketplace that aims to scale the voluntary carbon market; through a joint venture by DBS, SGX, Standard Chartered and Temasek. CIX offers distinct platforms and products that cater to the needs of different carbon credit buyers and sellers. The Exchange facilitates the sale of large-scale high-quality carbon credits through standardised contracts – catering primarily to MNCs and institutional investors. The Project Marketplace and Auction offer a curated selection of NCS projects that can meet corporate sustainability objectives. Each project on the Project Marketplace and Auction is supported by transparent impact, risk and pricing data. For more information, please visit www.climateimpactx.com About The Role The individual will be accountable for driving growth in revenue; negotiating and closing transactions with buyers; and building an active sales pipeline. The Director (Sales & Origination) will be primarily focussed on working with buyers and developing those relationships; and where necessary, selected supplier relationships as well. The role will either be based in Singapore or London as part of a global Commercial team reporting directly to the Head of Commercial. Responsibilities:
  • Establish, manage, and grow relationships with existing and new buyers so as to drive delivery of CIX's sales strategy for growth across our platforms and services.
  • Originate and close deals/partnerships with buyers and see through their purchases on the Exchange, Marketplace, and Auction
  • Develop, shape and deliver commercial offerings for buyers amidst a fast-moving and competitive landscape.
  • Support client communication and marketing activities to grow interest in and onboard new buyers to the CIX ecosystem.
  • Understand the main business driver of current and potential clients; with the ability to define the value of potential solutions, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and product development to capture the imagination and interest of the client.
  • Stay current on market developments, identifying new regulation/legislation and industry trends, products, developments in the voluntary and compliance carbon markets, and new trading/revenue opportunities and how they affect the network of clients.

Requirements
  • At least 8+ years of B2B business development experience commercializing new services and navigating complex sales cycles, preferably in the field of sustainability
  • A sales excellence mindset with pride in exceeding sales targets; Skilled in the mapping of decision maker networks and individual buying journeys
  • Preferred - experience using strategic marketing and communications to drive sales outcomes; Knowledge of integrated marketing campaigns and their influence on the sales cycle
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills; An ability to work in a fast-paced, agile and lean environment.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • Preferred - Higher degree or working experience in relevant subjects such as Sustainable Finance, Environmental Studies, Energy Economics, ESG
