Job Title Compliance Product Owner - Principal

Job Summary An influential leadership role in the agile structure, the Risk Product Owner - Principal sets the vision for the future of a segment within the compliance product/service area, aligned to the Group\xe2\x80\x99s strategic direction. You maximise the value the product/service area delivers to customers and the business and inspire and empower the mission team to achieve ambitious but realistic objectives.

The Product Owner - Principal works with the Group Owner to develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and uses broad organisational and domain knowledge to describe the Epics that set the objective and direction for the work within a mission.

As a member of the Risk Product Owner talent pool you may be deployed as product owner for any compliance product within the domain or use your very deep domain expertise and breadth of experience to work within a mission team.

What you\'ll do

This role will contribute to Telstra International effective management of it critical obligations across International telecommunications licensing and privacy by proactively managing compliance, and driving and managing appropriate obligation and control activities.

  • Perform, manage, implement and monitor the performance of complex compliance programs, including the development and maintenance of Telstra International compliance frameworks based on Telstra\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise Risk and Compliance Framework
  • Oversee the analysis of current and /or proposed business operations to identify areas of compliance risk, quantify the exposure and identify appropriate treatments
  • Provide relevant reporting on the content of Telstra International\xe2\x80\x99s risk profile
  • Provide action and governance to ensure compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and contractual obligations and meet the requirements of the Telstra Group Compliance Framework
  • Meet our regulatory performance metrics for International Telecommunication licenses
  • Manage our regulatory program of work including International regulatory and Privacy requirements
  • Program manage internal and external audits of Telstra International and exceptions are actioned
  • Provide controls quality assessment for critical controls related to significant risks and compliance obligations as per the TE-I Executive requirements
  • Manage the development and maintenance of business continuity plans for critical functions and business processes and meet the requirements of the enterprise resilience framework
  • Provide risk and compliance expertise in other contexts as required
  • Work with risk and compliance SME\xe2\x80\x99s (eg Cyber, Supplier, HSE, Technology) to ensure compliance risks to Telstra International are identified and controls are in place
  • Provide input and Subject matter expertise for s 889 customer requests
  • Partner and engage with key stakeholders across the Telstar International providing risk and compliance advice and support for complex programs and projects
  • Coordinate cross function risk assessments, programs and interactions (eg. GBS-NIT, GBS-Consumer, GBS-TE)
  • Co-ordinate compliance senior specialists to deliver high quality compliance program implementation, providing ongoing coaching, support and feedback
  • HSE Responsibility: Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with and implement any reasonable Telstra HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support Telstra to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation.
What you need to succeed

To be successful in the role, you\'ll bring skills and experience in:
  • Experience embedding proactive business and operational (not just financial) risk frameworks
  • Developing and executing strategy
  • Influencing senior stakeholders \xe2\x80\x93 internal and external, up to and including CEO level
  • Business and commercial analysis
  • Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and confidently with technical staff / vendors / customers and senior management
  • Ability to multitask and navigate competing priorities while persuading Business Units to actively engage
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a complex, multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in information/systems security, access controls and management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple internal, contractual and regulatory risk and compliance frameworks.
Highly desirable:
  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, finance, engineering or other relevant field
  • Extensive professional job-specific work experience in operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience
