Job Description


  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring/coaching and direct support, where applicable deliver best practice in selection, training, assessment, appraisal, and recognition/reward.
  • Deliver effective business communication through leadership and contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation, correspondence, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other as appropriate.
  • Develop effective working relationship with all members of Engie’s staff and the Client representatives.
  • Ensure customer focus within all areas of operational activities and relationships are maintained with key client contacts. Ensuring contractually agreed SLA's and KPI's within the Scope of Works (SOW) are met and necessary record retention demonstrating adherence.
  • Effectively lead management related activities including regular management meetings development of operational procedures fostering of good relationships with the client providing services of the highest standards.
  • Ensure ahead work planning, manage ground daily work activities, communicate work issues to key stakeholders and measure Engie performance at completing work on time and the performance of the staff.
  • Plan and schedule all maintenance subcontractors’ work and repairs. Ensure all accounts and documentation associated with these subcontractors is current and up to date on a monthly basis.
  • Manage and deliver repairs and minor project works, as required, within the data centre or specified site. Manage annual contract budgets.
  • Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
  • Ensure all subcontractors deliver a quality and competent service and all contractual obligations are met.
  • Be overall responsible for the day-to-day management of the facilities operations team within the specified sites.
  • Be the point of contact during significant events/incidents or multi-discipline technical escalations occurring within the specified sites.
  • Participate in any business continuity plans the team may be involved in, as necessary.
  • Ensure healthy and safety working conditions that both clients and Engie health and safety policies and processes implemented effectively across to Engie and subcontractors’ activities and are regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence, equipment reliability and availability. Ensure structures support for peaks and troughs in workload, and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure all absence and coverage by suitably trained and experienced staff to ensure full 24/7 coverage.
  • Create on the job learning environment by providing appropriate training and development planning and implemented for each member of FM staff. Ensure basic training needs are deliver, employees are fully competent to undertake their roles, and are able to reach full potential.
  • Talent manage staff to ensure an appropriate training plan and career progression identified.
  • Ensure post holders are fully competent, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place and monitoring of staff retention rates.
  • Reach out and consult with peers to ensure consistency across the accounts and compliance with client standards and best practice.
  • Produce site related financial, activity and other statistical information and reports as requested. Provide input into regular management reports and budget reviews and submissions.
  • Promote and maintaining the core Values of Engie.
  • Ensure professional image of Engie presented to clients and visitors at all times.
  • Comply and adhere to all regulated protocol and/or Company’s rules and regulation.
  • Perform and manage other duties at time assigned by management team.

Requirements:-
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a career showing continuous personal development with at least five years’ experience in Datacentre or 24/7 critical environment management.
  • Must be a certified Facility Manager or equivalent experience with finance exposure to invoicing, budgets, and general business accounts.
  • Managerial experience in Facility Manager within a 24/7 Datacentre and/or maintaining critical environments.
  • Preferably understand all the associated safety code related requirements relative to providing the service.
  • Experience with Health & Safety, Risk Assessments and Control Measures.
  • Detailed understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a Datacentre and commercial environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Air handling units, chilled water systems, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems (pre-action sprinklers).
  • Preferably experience of managing outsourced contracts.
  • Experience in operations management including team management, work scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Experience in managing escalation and emergency issues.
  • Experience in vendor management, ability to manage and progress monitoring to ensure objectives are achieve for outsourced support and projects.
  • Experience in recruitment and line management/supervisory, development and review of teams, appraisal, and effective people management practice.
