Knowledge of Sustainable Finance and ESG regulatory developments, supervisory standards and best practices including SCB&rsquos standards and processes, as well as external standards and regulations such as Sustainable Finance Taxonomies across SCB markets, UN Sustainability Developments Goals, Green/Sustainable Bond and Loan Principles, Task Force on Climate-related financial disclosures, Equator Principles and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change goals. Required is an ability to transform regulatory understanding into deliverable use cases and to oversee the delivery of these use cases to completion by closely engaging with SF teams and other stakeholders across the bank i.e., Reputational Sustainability Risk, Climate Risk, Group Sustainability etc. Good understanding of the Bank&rsquos governance and risk structure. Strong interpersonal skills and highly developed written and verbal communication, strong drive and prepared to get stuck into the detail as well as ability to influence across the bank. Strategy Proactively keep abreast of global and industry developments, assess implications and align and develop Bank relevant initiatives across businesses in response to regulatory and industry development in sustainable finance. Advise on the Bank&rsquos Green and Sustainable Product framework, and its alignment to local taxonomies, to ensure that the Bank continues to accelerate its green and sustainable standards and practices. Business Responsible for enabling successful regulatory adaptation and regulatory responses e.g. SF taxonomies, Climate Risk assessment. Working across CCIB businesses and risk functions to develop ESG disclosure, SFDR compliance, SF Taxonomy harmonisation, TFCD alignment, and analysing and ensuring alignment with government policy and regulation as it relates to sustainable finance. Stakeholder engagement with CCIB business and risk functions in the key hubs and regions, to secure opportunities for collaboration and capacity building. Gap analysis of the Bank&rsquos Green and Sustainable Product Framework against relevant local taxonomies. Ensure that the Bank is kept up to date with key trends and developments within the Sustainable Finance/ESG areas. Processes Responsible for ensuring SF adheres to existing operational processes and work to improve or create new operational processes and controls. Responsible for Group SF governance (MOUs etc.). Responsible for being the go-to person for the business for all operational risk related incidents and queries that arise in relation to Sustainable Finance products and product variants. Responsible for coordinating with stakeholders in other CCIB businesses to ensure integration of SF is effective and new risk and compliance processes are covered appropriately. Responsible for supporting the business in minimising operational risks and losses, and ensure material operational losses are investigated to prevent recurrence per group policy in relation to Sustainable Finance products and product variants. Responsible for coordinating internal and external audit reviews - liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely / accurate information is provided. People and Talent Responsible for fostering a culture of cohesion, transparency and excellence within the team. Risk Management Work closely with ESRM, the Risk function and develop deep understanding of climate and broader ESG risk. Responsible for ensuring all material operational risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, monitored and reported to relevant governance forums. Accountable for the identification of operational risk for new products and new business, regulatory and thematic risks, and the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate these risks. Accountable for the development of control enhancements to ensure any known risks are controlled within acceptable boundaries and consistent standards. Responsible for mentoring Sustainable Finance staff on conduct, business controls, governance and supervision. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable policies or designing them jointly with the businesses when required. Responsible for ensuring periodic peer reviews participation, subject to business need, to ensure consistency of risk management approach and support the business in embedding best practice. Governance Represent Sustainable Finance at key Governance meetings. Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the SF team&rsquos arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls and, if necessary, overseeing changes in these areas. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. Uplifting PPGs and CAs across the Bank for Sustainable Finance products and product variants. Key responsibilities Manage governance systems & corporate governance compliance for Sustainable Finance.
