Employee Relations Business Partner (HR + Legal)

Job Summary
The Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP) role provides consulting and direction regarding employee and labour relations matters to executives, managers and employees throughout the organization and other Lines of Business organisation. The ERBP helps ensure the legal compliance, adherence to and consistent application of policies and practices. This work is accomplished through collaboration with multiple partners and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ER investigations, customer care regarding potential misconduct or policy breaches.
  • Manage stakeholders including managers and store as well as market leaders to resolve complex matters for relevant lines of business
  • Work closely with People Partner, HR legal, Business Assurance, data privacy to assess legal risks while managing cases
  • Continue implementation of ER engagement framework
  • Advise and influence regarding critical and complex employee-related decisions, e.g., performance management, harassment, business conduct, terminations, and HR policies, guidelines and practices.
  • Evaluate and review employee related decisions in response to employee concerns.
  • Conduct any trainings or preventative programs as identified in partnership with senior ER leaders on ER topics
  • Support on review and communication and implement company-wide programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead responses to government audits, information requests and inspections.
  • Oversee and advise on Employee Representative policies, charters and activities.
  • Use ER metrics with clients to highlight trends and develop strategies to cultivate positive ER in the business and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain accurate case entry practices on Service Now
  • Work on Reporting for ER for business as well as internal ER reporting.
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years HR experience related to employee relations
  • Demonstrable ability to handle multiple priorities, partners and work streams across markets
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently with extraordinary decision quality and independent judgement
  • Demonstrable ability to demonstrate command skills and influence others
  • Ability to cultivate effective partnership and collaboration with business leadership and Talent Team peers in the organisation
  • Extraordinary communication skills including effective listening, writing and presentation
  • Good work ethic with a high degree of flexibility
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic and fast paced work environment
