Our Systems Engineering teams play a pivotal role in the product development cycle by aiding in the management and decomposition of complexity through the sound application of established systems engineering tools and techniques. This role is for the Engineering Manager of the newly formed Systems Engineering Team in SEA. Whilst the core team will be based in Singapore, there is the potential for expansion in the wider region.

About the role

Managing a team of systems engineers predominantly based in Singapore but with potential satellite teams in the immediate region. These engineers will be subject matter experts and are responsible for the direct delivery of systems engineering artefacts in consumer appliance projects.

You will be accountable for the overall deliverables of the team. This will involve planning people demand, allocation and prioritising systems engineering activities to ensure effective execution and timely delivery. Occasionally this would involve hands-on participation in actual systems engineering activities depending on project demands.

You will be responsible for the performance management of individual engineers, their professional development and for setting up a culture of high-performance within the team. This will require developing the capability of the engineers by coaching and sharing your knowledge/experience in a continuous professional development environment.

A key aspect of this role is the development and execution of the larger vision and strategy for systems engineering in the region with respect to its contribution to the product development process.

Developing processes and ways-of-working and where required, incorporating these within the product development process of the company.

Planning and managing budget and spend.

About you

A credible engineering degree and a minimum of 8 years\' experience in engineering or product development.

Demonstrable experience of (or high potential for) leading and growing small to medium sized technical teams.

Demonstrable use of systems engineering tools and techniques especially MBSE. Experience in a consumer appliance development environment is advantageous but not essential.

Demonstrable experience of managing demanding, cross-functional stakeholders with conflicting interests and motivations.

Experience of leading teams in technical problem solving and risk management is desirable

A clear logical thinker with exceptional attention to details.

Excellent people skills. Emotional intelligence and empathy in our people leaders are valued due to the nature of work demands in product development

Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization from graduates to members of the board with confidence, accuracy, and appropriate detail.
