Summary of Job Responsibilities Senior level management position, which is responsible for ensuring the collaborative progression of concept planning, design briefing, design development/progress, tendering/bidding, installation, testing & commissioning and handover leading to ongoing maintenance of all MEP/Building Services/Vertical Transportation systems and for close coordination with your ELV/Technology peer, ensuring efficiency, highest quality and affordability across all aspects of the project cycle, including achieving local and international sustainability certification. This includes working closely with the appointed multi-disciplinary delivery teams in design and project management. The design and delivery responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of holistic Building Services Project Management such as – Design Planning/Development/Delivery, Project Planning, Cost/Commercial Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Administration, and Safety. Makes decision that have a major impact on client relations and profitability. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide in-house fundamental ‘first principles’ engineering support around initial Building Services holistic spatial planning and coordination to support in house design & architectural management team, based in US and Singapore.
  • Lead in-house zone based Building Services project management team from Zone/Section SPMs and their associated PM’s.
  • Working with appointed Building Services & Vertical Transportation consultants and other related specialist design consultants where MEP & ELV interfaces are critical to the design coordination and delivery process, including Acoustics, Kitchens, Pools & Water Features, Spa, Audio Visual, Traffic, Fire & Life Safety, Signage/Wayfinding, and the like.
  • Coordination with design management team and applicable consultants on Design for Safety & Security by Design obligations as they relate to the Building Services works.
  • Working closely with appointed Sustainability Consultant and in-house Sustainability team to ensure that all applicable works, systems, and processes will delivery fully compliance with the project statutory obligations and aspirations, including all post opening/occupancy obligations.
  • Coordination with in-house Interior Design management team & consultants to ensure all relevant MEP & ELV related works are fully coordinated with project Design Excellence principles.
  • Coordination with Insurers & appointed Risk Consultants etc. around all Building Services & Vertical Transportation related works.
  • Management & supervision of appointed Independent Commissioning Authority (CxA) as defined by LEED®, to ensure all aspects of their scope are delivered, including post occupancy obligations.
  • Management & leadership/involvement in progressive reviews of all Building Services related design deliverables for all design stages to ensure accuracy, technical compliance, equipment sizing/selections, spatial coordination, inter-service coordination, etc.
  • Coordination with and technical support to in-house Procurement & Supply Chain team as required for all Building Services & Vertical Transportation related works.
  • Provide Building Services related support to in-house commercial/cost management team.
  • Liaison and coordination with LVS Global Engineering and Facilities leadership to ensure appropriate collaboration on all applicable project elements.
  • Lead the production of all MEP related reporting dashboards, progress/planning ‘S’ curves in order to report planned vs actual progress for all aspects of the works from design through handover.
  • Manage and as required attend/lead all applicable meeting attendance for all aspects of project delivery, including design and eventual contractor works as they related to Building Services.
  • Periodic and progressing checking of all Building Services & Vertical Transportation shop drawing reviews by consultant team to monitor and confirm quality of reviews undertaken.
  • Ensure Health & Safety principles of MBS are delivered project wide.
  • Coordinate and where required, lead discussions with applicable local statutory authorities and utility companies to drive compliance or seek acceptance of alternate solutions.
  • Chair value engineering or alternate solution workshops as needed.
  • Coordinate with and attending all necessary meetings and workshops with different departmental stakeholders, such as Facilities, Security, Surveillance, Operations, IT and the like to ensure they are included in the design loop periodically and as needed to finalise key design deliverables.
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities as part of team leadership.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a MEP related project and scope. Reviews site condition and preparedness, including as-built deliverables prepared by team before handling over areas and systems to Operational stakeholders.
  • Ensures and audits Building Services & Vertical Transportation related project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately in the EDMS through appointed document controllers.
  • Co-ordinate and drive collaboration efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the Architects, Consultants, Main Contractors, Subcontractors, Suppliers/Vendors, to ensure timely project delivery & quality.
  • Management and supervision of MEP related Resident Site Staff leadership during all on site works.
  • Go the ‘extra-mile’ to guarantee successful project delivery.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Education & Certification
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in a suitable Building Services engineering discipline (Building Services/Mechanical/Electrical) or other suitable/appropriate scientific discipline is desirable.
  • Post Graduate Diploma (or similar) in Construction Project Management is desirable, but not essential.
Experience
  • Minimum 15 – 20 years of relevant post graduate experience working experience in related fields and at least 10 years of experience working in similar projects in a senior management capacity.
  • Candidates should ideally have a design consultancy background and have been involved in site based resident engineer work prior to transitioning into a construction project management/delivery leadership role. Real world design and delivery experience must be demonstrable.
  • Advance knowledge of construction sequencing, construction management and the application of this into a Building Services environment as part of a larger leadership team.
  • Advance knowledge and experience of Design & Build, Construct Only, Management Contracting & Construction Management delivery models, obtained through a combination of project experience and education.
  • Experience in all aspects of Singapore BCA Green Mark Certification to a Platinum rating and ideally LEED® and WELL Building Certification as they relate to Building Services and energy consumption/management.
  • Must be able to confidently interact and communicate effectively with all necessary internal and external project parties, including the need to spend time overseas as part of design and delivery processes where necessary.
  • Good working knowledge of FM Global requirements as they relate to Building Services and relevant architectural works etc.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
Competencies
  • Use of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Aconex.
  • Ideally should have good working knowledge of BIM in the delivery of coordinated Building Services works, through relevant project experience.
