Job Description


Role Responsibilities

  • The Executive Director Collections supports the Global Head of Collections Products in driving and delivering the strategy for traditional Collections, products and platforms. Responsible to deliver digital collections experiences to our client base requires the understanding of client processes from receivables management, reconciliation, reporting and cash applications. In addition, the role needs a keen and clear eye for the future. The role is expected to lead the development of Request-to-Pay functions, receivables financing, reconciliation and reporting with its attendant impact on the Collections value proposition for the future.
  • Looking for a competent, self-driven, product leader with an execution mindset focused on solving client problems and creating a next generation and relevant receivables management proposition for the bank. Role holder should have delivered transformational applications and solutions for Collections, Corporate Receivables and/or have deep industry expertise to understand the cash client journey and use-cases.
Strategy
  • Develop and execute the strategy and priorities for collections.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders (internal and external-where required) to align and execute seamlessly.
  • Ensure active communication of vision, priorities and progress to the business and functional stakeholders to foster engagement, awareness and motivation.
Business
  • Work on the redefinition of our Collections capabilities and value with regards to new trends around commerce and how sellers want to get paid.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to enhance the overall Receivables product experience.
  • Execute on the innovation strategy for Collection\'s infrastructure including identifying market partnerships to deliver those CVPs as and when necessary.
  • Contribute to thought leadership for the business (along with stakeholders in ITO, FCC and CIB), ensuring an evolution towards the business models of the future.
  • Set plans to drive commercialisation of Collections client value propositions (CVP) in line with broader Cash business strategy.
  • Combine best-practice, market leader thinking, execute and work with RM and Sales teams to commercialize propositions across the client.
  • Develop marketing tools and collateral for internal and external distribution.
  • Help Drive the fee budget for underlying Product P&L.
  • Define meaningful future revenue streams in line with the identified new or enhanced product strategy.
  • Manage both cost and investment of product build, through optimized implementation plans.
  • Provide ongoing support, awareness and training for stakeholders including LPMs, RMs Sales, Risk Functions, 2LOD to build product knowledge and alignment for effective product delivery and commercialisation.
  • To constantly monitor the business environment as well as analyse competitor\'s offerings in the market and recommend appropriate strategy to respond to market opportunities and/or threats ahead of the competition.
  • Champion initiatives that position SCB for any market changes in a timely manner and make SCB leading provider of digital collections services for all CCIB Clients.
Processes
  • Ensure strict governance in the delivery of Receivables products, engage with key stakeholders to continuously enhance our product proposition, e.g., Credit, Compliance, Legal, FCC, etc.
  • Interact with functional and cross functional partners across Sales, Product Development, Operations, Technology, Client Services, etc on global, regional and country basis to ensure product agendas are prioritized and activities are aligned and delivered in line with Group Strategy.
  • Process design work with Operations, Technology and other function partners with the aim of translating process optimization to bottom line cost control with a high degree of reliability.
  • Monitor and track the business performance by working closely with other departments such as Finance, PMO and Cash Operations.
  • Must have awareness and understanding of the Operational Risk Framework for Transaction Banking.
  • Work with Legal, risk and compliance on improving the existing framework to facilitate business growth.
  • Providing clear business case for justification and investment.

Risk Management
  • Collaborate with Operations, Technology, CFCC, Legal, and Risk partners to ensure major risks are identified, escalated, mitigated and under control.
  • Ensure reporting of identified risks to the relevant risk and governance committees and guiding local teams on remediation.
  • Work with relevant risk stakeholders (e.g., CFCC, Legal, Operational Risk, etc.) to understand and mitigate the risks associated with products being managed via establishing adequate product control and governance within acceptable risk appetite.
  • Take proactive initiative to address regulatory, reputational and ethical matters.
Governance & Risk Management
  • Maintain / update governance framework working with various stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely renewal of country addendums (CAs) to PPGs and proactively work with stakeholders to identify, quantify, manage and mitigate new and existing risks.
  • Responsible for Collections product risks. Defines pricing guidelines and processes for the product. Maintain timely renewal of global PPG(s), Post Implementation Reviews and Product Shelf Reviews.
  • Effectively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk and compliance matters in a timely manner.
  • Conduct reviews on their products in partnership with Legal and CFCC.
  • Measure and report periodically against above conduct and risk frameworks.
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Willingness to \'speak up\' in the event of any realized or perceived breach of group conduct rules or laws by colleagues.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Overall, minimum 15+ years working experience in banking.
  • Experience in Corporate and Commercial Banking or transaction banking preferred.
  • Degree holder- preferably in Economics, Finance or Business.
  • Expert knowledge of cash management products especially receivables management and payments.
  • Good understanding of Clients digital collections needs especially Global Corporates(multinationals), large and local corporates.
  • Connected to Payments industry and good understanding of client Treasury and cash management models and structures. Able to quickly understand merchant ecosystem for C2B / B2B.
  • Experience with owning the entire product lifecycle, from inception to launch and ongoing product management/enhancement and commercialization.
  • Mature and driven with an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude.
  • Experienced and Effective in Stakeholder engagements. Team player.
  • Think "out of the box". Creative and open to feedback and alternative perspectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
