THIS IS A 2-YEARS RENEWABLE / CONVERTIBLE CONTRACT ROLE. JOB DESCRIPTION You will be responsible for managing the volunteer network for all museums under the Museum Development Group. This includes all liaison work involving recruitment, training, deployment and related administrative work. You will also look into ways to expand the volunteer network by working with strategic partners and marketing volunteering opportunities through various channels. Additionally, you will conceptualize and implement a variety of new and innovative tours at Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC). This may extend to the development and implementation of tours for the other museums under the Museum Development Group. You will also be responsible for reviewing and refreshing existing tours. Responsibilities: Manage the Volunteer Network under the Museum Development Group: Liaise with volunteers under the Museum Development Group on all volunteer matters such as recruitment, training, deployment, and volunteer benefits Conduct recruitment interviews and training sessions for selected volunteers Work with internal and external stakeholders in creating and implementing new volunteering opportunities and Expand the volunteer network through strategic partnerships and the management of various recruitment channels and volunteering platforms. Conceptualise, Develop and Implement Innovative and Quality Guided Tours: Develop and implement new tours for the Singapore Discovery Centre on a regular basis to encourage new and repeat visitors to the centre. This includes conducting thorough research, scripting, procuring and creating all tour materials, training of guides, conducting the tours and evaluating them for review Bring to life the Singapore Story through various tour delivery methods such as role-playing, storytelling, facilitation of games and the application of other guiding techniques to enhance the guided tours Create and conduct tours for the other museums under the Museum Development Group when required and Review existing and new tours regularly to ensure that tour content remains up-to-date and the take-up rates remain at a healthy level. Requirements: Passionate about the Singapore Story and committed to sharing it to instils confidence in and the desire to contribute to Singapore's future and her defense Able to communicate, present and write fluently in English. Fluency in a second language will be advantageous Possess an impressive conceptual outlook and the ability to produce original ideas Enjoy interacting with people of all ages and inspiring them to volunteer for a good cause Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively within tight project timelines Able to work well in a team Possess at least a related degree and Comfortable to work on weekends if required
