PURPOSE

This role responsibilities are mainly to support Senior Finance Operations Manager in managing Finance Operations functions for Life business to ensure quality and timely delivery of all deliverables.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Assist to manage Finance Operations functions for Life business on receipting, accounts payables and policy-related payments for all distribution channels

  • Prepare month-end closing journals, bank and system related balance sheet reconciliations with aging analysis to ensure balances are accurate

  • Drive end to end process relating to Finance on implementation of new products, various business initiatives and operation enhancements. Responsibilities include assist in providing technical Finance requirements, reviewing test cases design/scenario; and participating in the end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Assist to design and update new process flows and SOPs relating to new products and business initiatives

  • Actively look for process improvements relating to operational effectiveness and efficiency within the Finance Operations


QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. ACCA) with at least 3 years of experience

  • Prior experience in Life insurance industry is preferred

  • Good knowledge of Finance Operations process flow and internal control

  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, well-organised and systematic

  • High personal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focus, with good aptitude in problem-solving


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

  • Strong communication skills, thus ability to liaise with and work across departments in order to achieve best outcomes for the business and customer

  • Sound understanding of IT knowledge added advantage

  • Good knowledge of Sun & Oracle accounting system as well as policy systems (including AS400, eBao)

  • Knowledge of applicable accounting standards

  • Knowledge and experience of best practice within industry to consistently improve delivery within department
