Job Description


The Role Responsibilities
We are looking for a candidate for providing application support for the bank\'s strategic eCommerce FX platform who can face off business and meet their demands (trading and sales) and expectations. The candidate should have prior experience in application support and has strong technical and communication skills. The candidate should be adept in prioritizing and judging the nature of the issues and able to context switch between issues and is able to address and resolve them.

  • Provide BAU trading floor support for FX eCommerce applications.
  • Contribute to the resolution of high severity incidents.
  • Engagement with Dev / BA / QA / Release Management / Trading / Sales to resolve key production impacting issues.
  • Escalate and follow up production issues to Dev/BA/QA teams.
  • Change coordination and implementation.
  • Problem Management.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery/BCM drills.
  • Performance/stability reviews/improvements.
  • Put forward ideas to improve automation and/or efficiency and own through to implementation.
  • Adhere to Change Control and Fault Reporting Procedures.
  • Participate in weekend on-call and public holiday support rota.
Risk Management
  • The ability to interpret the Group\'s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
  • Revenue Apps Leads, Development and Infrastructure teams, FM Sales and Trading Desk, Client Services Team.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5 years of work experience supporting financial markets application in an IT department. A strong IT expertise and FX or Rates/Credit products knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to own and drive small/ad-hoc project work and deliver to its closure.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter, able to self-manage with strong collaboration skills and able to interact effectively with others.
  • Good understanding in infrastructure setup, O/s memory management, capacity review.
  • Good understanding in networking concepts and ability to troubleshoot and understand latency issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and deliver.
Certifications
  • ITIL Foundation V3 and PMP is preferable.
Required Technology Knowledge
  • Proficiency in operating in Linux and networking.
  • Good knowledge of ITRS Geneos / Oracle SQL.
  • Strong shell/Perl/Python scripting skills. Ability to automate manual task and seek continuous improvement in support performance.
  • Experience working with Ansible, GIT/Bitbucket, ELK stack etc. is preferred.
  • Good understanding in infrastructure setup, OS memory management, capacity review.
  • Good understanding in networking concepts and ability to troubleshoot and understand latency issues.
Experience/Specific Knowledge of the following would be a bonus.
  • Basic functional knowledge of Financial FX products like spot, forward, swaps, NDFs etc, or Bonds, Interest Rates Swap etc.
  • Basic knowledge of FX FIX connectivity & Client onboarding.
