General Manager (Singapore)

As the General Manager at Maker Lab (MKL), you are responsible for aligning MKL\xe2\x80\x99s product strategy with the overall business strategy. Your primary function is to ensure the MKL product meets the needs of its current and future clients. You are to work closely with cross-functional teams throughout the company and report directly to the CEO.

You will work with the business development, account management and senior leadership team to support the growth of the business whilst overseeing the fulfilment team, responsible for ensuring that any new and existing solutions are delivered in a timely fashion and successfully meet client expectations.

You have a passion for your craft and a strong desire to grow as a professional. You are excited by the challenges of enormous complexity and have the leadership ability to motivate. You are an experienced leader who knows how to get things done in an agile environment and have proven your ability. You look at the big picture, use data to drive your decisions, understand the business priorities and bring them together to drive MKL\xe2\x80\x99s strategic roadmaps. You have a passion for solving large-scale problems, which you do by striking the right balance between the real-world context of MKL\xe2\x80\x99s clients and the latest in data.

Role:

  • Define and execute the short-term and long-term business and product strategy for MKL in APAC, including product positioning, value propositions, areas of growth and future investment potential for the market.
  • Build the communication bridge between in-market and APAC teams, lead cross-functional collaboration for strategic planning and drive growth with the executive leadership team.
  • Analyse, evaluate and synthesise market opportunities, in-market feedback and client problems to influence product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and be willing to step in and guide the market teams where needed.
  • Lead the successful expansion of the business in the APAC region.
  • Continuously drive commercial excellence and deliver on revenue, all while ensuring agency profitability.
  • Drive performance of the fulfilment team and set KPIs of the team. Optimising learning and development for top performers.
You:
  • Minimum of 18+ years experience in advertising and marketing, of which 5+ years as a Managing Director, General Manager and/or experience in senior leadership positions in APAC.
  • Experience in design, advertising, and marketing agencies is highly desirable. Consulting experience is a plus.
  • A competent leader who can provide guidance that enhances performance in a manner which incorporates the company\xe2\x80\x99s vision and culture. A strategic problem solver who is able to provide thought leadership to their team and enhance performance.
  • People Management - proven leadership experience managing teams across APAC or, at minimum, SEA. A decisive and thoughtful leader.
  • Commercial acumen - new business development and driving agency growth across APAC/SEA.
  • P&L management. Communicating agency profitability, product revenue and investment updates to senior management.
  • Proven experience setting and executing the strategic direction for businesses in advertising, marketing, events, or the technology industries. Aligning goals and strategies while being innovative and driving revenue.
  • Strong communicator with demonstrated success in handling and communicating complex or sensitive business issues to senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proven experience with creating high-level presentations for a broad range of audiences.
  • A positive individual who can motivate and inspire.
  • High tolerance and appreciation towards ambiguity and change.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communications and presentation skills and - ideally - fluent in another Asian language to cover projects across APAC.
