Job Description


Performs activities related to material procurement, outsourcing, and vendor selection Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently), or as a manager:

  • Performs activities related to the purchasing of materials, equipment and services for internal company use. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops, implements and communicates company policies and procedures for purchasing.
  • Reviews purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements;
  • May coordinate purchasing activities with the engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels.
  • Negotiates with vendors and approves purchases of authorized amounts or size.
  • Maintains and updates purchasing orders, systems, and documentation. Monitors the cost, schedule and performance metrics of contracts and subcontracts.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • Works on other projects and/or assignments as needed

Is recognized as an external thought leader within strategic function or discipline.
Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of individual capabilities and business requirements and is very rare. Most job families will not have incumbents at this level.
At this level a post-graduate degree may be expected.
Applies an excellent and broad understanding of company strategy, cross company dynamics and financial/business needs.
