Summary of ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a Head, Business Design to increase Blackbox's revenue
through identifying and developing new business opportunities as well as leading
new wins and client acquisition marketing, tracking new and emerging trends,
recommending go-to-market offer solutions, strategic approach, and content
architect to meet business needs and requirements.About BlackboxBlackbox is an award-winning* Singapore-based company that provides its clients
with decision science solutions, providing consumer, business, and community
perspectives on contemporary problems and challenges.We work with Government agencies, multinationals, and NGOs and regularly
conduct our own self-funded polling that we share publicly as a way of
contributing to current community debate and dialogue.We also monitor emerging trends both regionally and globally with the main aim
of signalling potential changes of significance before they happen or flagging the
implications of today's decisions for the future.The company is based in Singapore (@Alice - next to the MediaCorp building) and
currently has personnel based in India, Philippines, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong,
UK, and US* Marketing Magazine local agency of the year twice, ASME Entrepreneur of the
Year Award (EYA) - the oldest award in Singapore that honors local entrepreneurs
who have shown outstanding performance as business owners, be they emerging
or established enterprises, in their respective fields.The Head, Business Design should be highly analytical, data-driven and will seek
to improve upon our key priorities by acquiring the right client and will be
expected to:

  • Act as a key enabler of new business development and business design strategy
  • Strengthen Go-To-Market effectiveness, set and implement strategic direction across targeted verticals and/or markets to deliver new BD strategies, and financial commitments and enable profitable growth
  • Partner with Brand and Partnership stakeholders to define strategy and develop a roadmap for customer acquisition to ensure every new client grows and succeed
  • Guide development and execution of integrated strategic plans, getting buy-in with client gatekeeper, and internal key stakeholders against clientele's strategic goals to meet their annual forecast and goals
  • Develop recommendations to reach new clients through desktop, and mobile campaigns, including a creative and messaging strategy to maximize the impacts of new business development strategy and make a recommendation to improve conversion rates
  • Develop new retention programs that will drive improvements in a lifetime engagement
  • Develop and coach team capabilities, as well as talent cultivation and succession planning
Accountabilities
  • Meet or exceed plan year target.
  • Develop and monitor market intelligence, bringing in consumer and market insights into new vertical and/or market strategy and marketing plan
  • Manage alignment across teams when it is needed
  • Pricing (value, portfolio, commercial terms) and provide annual pricing guidance.
  • Develop the strategy and set the direction for the solution offering, value creation/capture, and one-to-many mindset
  • Identify capability gaps in the team and develop and implement capability development plans
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to the team members on the job and through project engagement
  • Attend and contribute to Leadership meetings and represent BB for conferences and networking
  • Drive BB service strategic pillar on Market Research Technology relationships and special initiatives
Critical Technical, Professional and Personal Capabilities
  • Tertiary qualification in Market Research, Marketing, Advertising, Math, or a related analytical field
  • 8+ years of customer acquisition and/or marketing roles in an agency, e-commerce / direct response environment
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills with strong business acumen
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment that requires the ability to multi-task and implement high priority initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, planning, and project management skills with individuals at both peer and management levels
  • Creative, solution-oriented mindset with the drive to see plans through to implementation as well as can deliver content and key messages at scale
  • Excellent Customer service and management mindset
