Description

Risk Control :

  • Monitor and enhance existing Key Risk Indicators within Finance.
  • Manage balance sheet substantiation exercises (ie General Ledger account ownership exercise) and reporting of Key Risk Indicators to Regional Finance.
  • Assume the role of "risk champion" within Finance to engage Operational Risk Control.
  • Elevate "control consciousness" within the finance function and embed latest market practices and trends.
Cost reporting & Decision Support:
  • Timeliness and accuracy of monthly cost templates, dashboards, product & client profitability analyses to local business stakeholders and Regional Finance.
Team Management :
  • Train, manage, motivate, and develop an appropriately skilled Finance function.
  • Effective collaboration with Regional Finance in ensuring that BAU deliverables are fulfilled.
Change Management :
  • Participate in the roll out of Global change programmes, Data Quality and Economic Capital initiatives and drive change initiatives that have a strong control dimension.
Regulatory Reporting & Tax :
  • Responsible for the review of all the MAS returns, analyse reports and investigate variances.
  • Ensure compliance with existing MAS regulations and keep abreast of regulatory developments while evaluating the adequacy of existing data attributes to fulfil new reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with FC IT and our external vendors to ensure that our automated regulatory reporting platform is kept updated with changes in the regulatory framework.
  • Liaise with EY for the annual audit and assists in the preparation of the statutory accounts while ensuring compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Assume responsibility for the implementation of Transfer pricing policies in accordance with local and regional policies which encompass the upkeep of the TP file, update of the SLAs and close liaising with the Regional Finance and Tax functions.
Profile
  • Degree in Accountancy or professional qualification in Accountancy
  • At least 8 years in banking/financial industry
  • Strong control aptitude and understanding of front to back processes.
  • Possess a change mindset and keen to contribute to the department\'s work flow efficiency through their suggestions / recommendations.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation/regulations and statutory accounting principles. The individual should have breadth of functional experience or knowledge allowing them to take a wider perspective when applying the skill (eg possibly cross-function, external) and to anticipate/think ahead in non-standard circumstances.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, detailed oriented.
  • Effective in stakeholder management in fronting senior management within the bank, regional finance and head office finance.
  • Good team-player with excellent interpersonal skills. Contributes to the achievement of team goals, delivering reliably to expectations.
  • Listens to others and addresses their questions. Presents information in a way that shows sound reasoning. Communicates relevant information in all directions, ensuring others are kept informed.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Access.
