In September 2022 Workmate was acquired by PERSOL Group, one of the worlds largest HR Services companies, listed on the Japan Stock Exchange. We are growing fast, and are looking for a talented sales leader to help us accelerate our growth.

The Position We are looking for a Head of Sales to drive the commercial side of the business in Singapore. You will work closely with our Founder & CEO, Mat, to build a high performance sales team, grow our client base, and achieve our revenue goals.

About you

  • You are a rainmaker. You are a great individual solution sales person and are always involved in the biggest, most important deals. You know how to sniff out whale opportunities, stuff that will 5x our business, for example developing partnership deals or building referrals. Your pace setting automatically helps your team reach new benchmarks of performance.
  • You make other people shine. Our team is made up of people that love to learn and grow. You are a patient leader that supports and nurtures talent, with an ability to listen beyond words. You are clear in your approach and build trust and accountability throughout the organization. You keep the team on mission and unite sales and ops teams to work towards this common goal. Nothing makes you prouder than seeing your team step up and take the lead, as you act as an invisible force creating more from those around you.
  • You truly understand your customers. You keep up with how they operate. You observe and recognize their pain points. You understand their needs. You know how your solution compares to other options in the market. You tailor your approach (and our product) to the customers. Customers turn to you for solutions to their issues and the betterment of their operations.
  • You communicate exceptionally whether written or verbal; you are a brilliant listener, and you\xe2\x80\x99re ready to be wrong. We believe the best ideas and solutions come from debate and putting an idea through the gauntlet. You are aware of this and will present your ideas in a manner that invites criticism and are willing to change your solutions based on feedback.
  • You build repeatable sales engines. You are sophisticated at driving and optimizing a sales funnel leveraging a CRM. You can identify drop offs and build tools and deliver training to the team to overcome these. You can build a team of enterprise sales that are surgical with their sales precision.
  • You are a partner for our customers. You are a business partner for our customers, not an order taker. You are creative in your approach, growing existing accounts by creating value for our customers. You breed a team that is able to build relationships throughout an entire enterprise, understand each stakeholders needs and create immense trust. In your previous companies, you have preferably worked in an outsourcing industry.
Being a Head of Sales at Workmate: Bridge between the customers and the company, leading our team of smart and driven sales people. Management at Workmate is not about sitting in the corner office. It is a hands-on affair that suits deal makers and great coaches. We expect managers to breed managers, to nurture talent and make them shine.

Things you may do as our Head of Sales : Drive market demand through:
  • Build Sales Strategy for the business.
  • Be involved in the pitch, proposal and closing of large enterprise opportunities
  • Mentoring the sales team regularly, to improve their funnel health
  • Build and maintain good relationships with industry leaders, participate in industry events, utilize offline and online platforms to be recognized as an industry expert
  • Ensure our collateral, messaging and proposals are all on point
  • Knowing your tools, we use Hubspot and Linkedin Sales Navigator, maybe you have other recommendations?
  • Work closely with me on building local strategic partnerships which can fast track our sales efforts
Create a high performing team by:
  • Maintaining a rhythm of business that breeds learning, accountability, and collaboration
  • Being a coach, being radically candid about what and how your direct reports can improve, then providing them the development tools to reach that level
  • Understanding the long game of organizational design. You will learn how to use psychometric tools to guide team development.
  • Develop a workplace that our team loves to come to. Together with the HR Manager, you will develop programs to ensure the sales team loves being a Workmate.
  • Create a \xe2\x80\x98Stronger Together\xe2\x80\x99 mentality such that ops and sales love working together in an environment of trust.

  • You will be based in our office on Robinson Road. While you will be based in Singapore, Workmate\xe2\x80\x99s vision stretches beyond our borders. We have teams of passionate individuals working towards this exciting future in our Bangkok and Jakarta offices as well!

  • Mat, he\xe2\x80\x99s our Founder and CEO and the longest survivor of this project. He has a tough hide since this is his second startup (previously sold as an ad-tech company). He has a lot of insights on customers, clients and loves good banter.
  • Tudor, he\xe2\x80\x99s our CPO and he will tell you things straight. He is all about outcomes and building solutions that customers / workers will find valuable.
  • Angie is our Head of Managed Services and Platform Operations in Singapore. Nurturing the biggest team in Singapore, she\'s the one who will provide you insight into our worker pool behaviours.
