Job Description

Global financial services consulting and research firm is hiring a Regional Head of Business Operations. This role will manage the day-to-day running of operations critical to employees being able to do their jobs, which covers all elements of infrastructure, facilities, premises and technology.

Managing a team of 10 country operations and office managers across the APAC region, you will coordinate across country and functional units, ensuring suitable operations management procedures and controls are in place; maintain an up-to-date operational framework to support company strategy and drive key change and transformational initiatives and optimize operational processes.

This is a high visibility, high contact role and will work with members and management of various teams and functions locally in APAC and globally in US and UK, including finance, technology, risk, HR, premises management, compliance and legal.

You will be pivotal to the success of the firm, ensuring staff can do their jobs effectively whilst constantly looking for ways in which to improve and enhance how things are done.

Responsibilities:

• Manage APAC operations management team
• Maintain operating infrastructure across the region
• Support budget planning and allocation process for APAC
• Develop and present investment proposals to improve operations (e.g. office optimization, remote working enablement, premises relocation, redesign, systems improvements, employee policy change, technology enhancements etc).
• Assess operational processes, driving best practice and operational efficiencies
• Set and monitor key performance indicators for each Operations Manager
• Ensure each Operations Manager has the right coverage, responsiveness and productivity
• Partner with IT to oversee implementation of technology soft/hardware within the region
• Act as one of the points of contact for regional regulators (outside of the compliance team)
• Work with governance functions to reinforce the risk and controls framework within the region
• Oversee implementation of operational solutions in response to regulatory and audit findings
• Responsibility for certain business continuity issues
• Research and develop new ideas and ways to work smarter
• Collaborate with Operations Managers from other regions (US, UK, EMEA)

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a banking / financial services organisation as a regional office manager, COO, CAO, Head of Business Operations or other relevant area (please note “operations” does not refer to back/middle office operations as the hiring company is not a bank/trading firm)
• Strong analytical/process analysis background
• People management, especially with regional teams
• Leverages and builds strong internal networks
• Ability to take a strategic view and articulate/explain strategy as well as desired outcomes to a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Commercial mindset – the ability to incorporate the commercial impact of decisions and proposed changes into discussions and reporting
• Adjusts priorities to changing circumstances and can delegate effectively
• Manages multiple projects concurrently, both long and short-term
• Balances own work with management responsibilities

Salary indication:

• Base salary: $200,000 - $220,000
