About the Role

The Head of Software Engineering and Architecture will drive the definition and implementation of technology vision that will deliver to the M1's Digitisation and business growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, the Head of Architecture and Software Engineering will be tasked with making executive technology decisions on behalf of the company, including managing a technology budget and making investments to align with the company vision and enable its growth ambitions. He/She will articulate the technology vision across the organization and help the organization understand how technology will help them achieve business goals.

Reporting into the Chief Digital Officer, he/she you will drive the translation of key digitisation agenda into sustainable, scalable solution and spearhead the delivery. He/She will be required to cultivate strong relationships with business stakeholders and maintain an in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans.

Being accountable for Solution architecture, Head of Architecture and Software Engineering will manage the architecture function that will realise the business processes being brought to life through the technology and broader architecture to enable the desired business and customer outcomes. The architecture function will be responsible for developing sustainable and scalable solution and will work closely with business and software engineering teams.

He/She will establish and manage the Software Engineering capability through a combination of in-house resources and external partners. The Software Engineering team will be responsible for delivery of quality solution to the business. The team will also be responsible for the security and operation of business-critical applications.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in IT, Telecoms, or Engineering with more than 15 years' relevant working experience in telecommunications industry and at least 5 years holding senior IT management position
• Strong telecom expertise in BSS/OSS technologies and related business domain
• Track record of introducing new technology to business stakeholders and in influencing business decisions
• Proven capability to drive innovation in a complex environment
• Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes, superior customer experience through the use of technology
• Hands on delivery experience and skilled in applying two speed (agile and waterfall) methodology in complex, multi-disciplinary engagements
• Experienced in vendor management
• Able to demonstrate strong technology curiosity and constant desire to expand personal knowledge
• Strong communication and influencing skills
