Job Description


We are looking for a HR Manager, SEA to provide complex operational consultancy to employees and business advisory to the first line and middle managers for all people matters for the region. This role also manages medium to high complexity Employee Relations cases and has frequent exposure to senior leadership.

The successful candidate must have strong in-depth knowledge of all people matters and is a subject matter expert in a variety of Human Resource related topics for the SEA countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. This role will be supported by an additional resource for day-to-day HR administrations.

About the Role

As a HR Manager, SEA, you will:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the BU/SBU i.e. customers, products, pressures, people and politics to provide the necessary advisory on people matters.
  • Provide complex operational consultancy to people managers by providing comprehensive resolutions to people issues
  • Work with global HR teams to obtain the desired outcomes, such as compensation benchmarking, international travel and relocation, sourcing and procurement of external vendors, group insurance renewals.
  • Exercise considerable judgement to develop solutions from a factual background and fundamental principles.
  • Drive the execution of the entire employee life cycle from onboarding to career movement to exit clearance.
  • Execute all essential day-to-day HR operational support for all employees in the region, including payroll, work permit, group insurance, new employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Execute the role of Workday knowledge expert for all HR transactions (payroll, recruitment, employee records updates, international movement) accurately according to internal compliance requirements.
  • Partnering with the various internal support teams including finance and payroll, ensure all key HR operational processes are executed timely and accurately, including payroll, immigration, insurance and all in-country employment and government-related processes.
  • Manage external in-country vendors for all SEA countries, including insurance brokers, recruitment agencies, immigration providers and legal counsels.
  • Direct the shared service resource to provide superior employee experience in all HR operational processes, such as employee queries on compensation and benefits.
  • Ensure reports and analyses required for internal and external purposes are prepared timely.
  • Be the employees\xe2\x80\x99 point of contact for all people matters and ensure all HR requests are well-handled.
About You
As a HR Manager, SEA, you should have:
  • 8 to 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 total HR operational experience with 3-5 years in the SEA region, covering payroll and employment for the 5 countries \xe2\x80\x93 Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
  • Superior organizational agility and consultative problem-solving skills with sound commercial acumen and the ability to understand business needs and provide comprehensive resolutions to complex people issues.
  • Subject matter expert in all HR operations and processes with working knowledge of employment regulations of the countries in the region
  • Strong project management skills with adherence to deadline; able to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks according to criticality
  • Clear thought process with strong organization and delegation skills to managing a resource or small team to ensure high productivity and HR service deliverance
  • Street-smart and creative with the end-goal in mind to achieve the desired deliverables with the highest standard most efficiently and effectively.
  • Independent, highly driven with a can-do attitude that is willing to be hands-on in all HR processes to support the business; ever ready to execute any tasks necessary to ensure the smooth execution of the HR operations
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and relationships with multiple stakeholders, regional and global teams, external vendors and suppliers.
  • Strong IT skills in navigating HR and other in-house systems, and an understanding of various admin and support mechanisms in order to complete internal tasks.
  • The humility to learn the intricacies of the organization issues, coupled with an open mind to learn new ways of working will be the success factor for this role.
  • Experience in working with union would be an asset.
