Working collaboratively across all geo-markets within the Asia Pacific region, this role will take a lead in developing a customer centric supportive HR experience that delivers an efficient, accurate and responsive HR service to the business.
The role will be responsible for the effective management of the regional HR Operations team, leading continuous improvement and development of both the team and the processes in the operation.
To be the lead representative for the Asia Pacific HR team contributing to global HR operations projects and processes and ensuring successful regional implementation.
Provide leadership, guidance and alignment for the HR processes across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring pro-active and commercial HR advice is delivered to Business Leaders and employees on HR and employment matters to support the regions business strategy and plans.
Role tasks and responsibilities
Operations
Partner closely with the HR Management team to ensure the delivery of a high quality and legally compliant HR service
Oversee the management of the regional HR mailbox, ensuring work is evenly distributed between the team, a high quality of output is maintained and there is a high level of customer experience delivered to enable business growth
Support the delivery of HR operations as and when required
Provide inspirational and supportive leadership to the HR Operations team. Develop coach and mentor team members to improve performance and have progressive careers
Embed a culture of continuous improvement for all HR practices across the Operations team, ensure knowledge is retained and processes are clearly documented
Work closely with the regional HR team and team members in other functions that deliver an HR service to ensure everyone is fully informed of HR policies, procedures and practices to ensure alignment, consistency, company culture and legal compliance
With credibility, confidently challenge the thinking of business leaders ensuring the best outcome is achieved
Act as case manager for a full range of employee relations issues and provide guidance and coaching to business leaders on a range of HR areas, including contracts, immigration, international moves, disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues
Annual projects and processes
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of the HR calendar ie performance management cycle, salary and bonus review,
In conjunction with HR Director, responsibility for production of HR reports, data and insight delivered to the business on a number of metrics such as attrition, headcount analysis, position management and DE&I
Manage the annual renewal process of Private Medical insurance for the region
Ensure compliance with the company data protection policies and compliance in all markets across Asia Pacific. Manage the annual Data Retention, Archiving and Destruction process for HR.
Work with Group and regional HR colleagues to lead on ad hoc HR projects, such as system implementation, contract and policy reviews etc
Reward
Ensure the team are utilising and tracking extensive market data and knowledge to make appropriate salary recommendations for employees, hiring managers and candidates
Manage the relationship with our external benchmarking provider to manage inputs to salary recommendations
Support with ad hoc requests for salary benchmarking
Requirements:
Extensive experience of operating successfully at a mid level HR role in a fast paced, complex and international environment
Proven experience of leading and coaching HR professionals
Extensive generalist experience (at least 8 years) across the full spectrum of HR including international employment, talent acquisition and reward compliance
Substantial experience in Asian markets and experience of working with cultural differences impacting on employment practices
Strong and broad operational experience of being a business partner to managers in Asia, including remote locations
