Working hours: Mon to Fri 9am 6pm

We are looking for a motivated Human Resources Manager to create and develop comprehensive HR strategies for a charitable business environment. Your primary responsibility will involve overseeing and supervising human resources operations comprehensively, while implementing workplace regulations that ensure optimal efficiency and fair and equitable compensation. This is an individual contributor role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage talent acquisition in the charitable organization by scheduling interviews, conducting pre-recruitment screening, and negotiating contracts and salaries
  • Create, refine, and oversee the implementation of HR practices within the company to ensure high employee retention and work satisfaction
  • Organize and conduct onboarding of new employees and volunteers through training sessions, orientations, and the distribution of informative materials
  • Introduce workplace policies and communication channels that address employees and volunteers concerns
  • Monitor changing employment and compensation regulations to ensure all HR practices are legally compliant
  • Collaborate with the management team to set out a fair and equitable compensation framework
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the relevant trends, regulations, and legislation in the relevant jurisdictions and ensure appropriate response including representation and or education to raise awareness of changing frameworks, trends and business implications
  • Ensure the relevant mechanisms are in place and reviewed regularly to enable the accurate flow of employee data to relevant HR systems
  • Work on and support projects, reporting and other ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or Business discipline
  • Proven experience providing generalist operational HR support
  • Post graduate Human Resource qualifications preferred
  • Ability to provide critical and effective feedback to both staff and executive team
  • Familiarity with recruitment and screening techniques and practices
  • Develop and implement innovative ways to engage with line management based on open and trusting relationships to drive cultural change
  • Ability to work flexibly, be agile, prioritise workload effectively and deliver results will be key to success in this role
  • Ability to positively impact on others in peer positions, and influencing without authority
  • Good knowledge of local legislation and understanding of a charitable organization
  • Ability to evaluate information effectively and make balanced decisions
  • Ability to be hands-on and work independently
