What the role is:The Events and Conference Unit within the Communications & Engagement Division from the Ministry of Law is looking for interns who are passionate about running events and are able to embrace new technologies to deliver quality virtual events. By working with us, interns will get to gain first-hand experience of running events, both online and in-person. Interns will be assisting the event management work for the Singapore Convention Week (SC Week), which is a key event organised by the Ministry of Law that features a series of events to discuss emerging trends and new innovations that shape the future of dispute resolution. For the 2023 edition, the week-long event was attended by more than 4500 legal practitioners, thought leaders and government officials from all over the world. The SC Week 2024 will be held in Singapore in late August 2024. It will comprise of a hybrid conference and workshops, supplemented by social programmes such as a welcome reception, an evening networking event, as well as Experience Singapore tours and activities.What you will be working on:Interns will gain knowledge in the following areas: - Plan and execute physical and hybrid events, such as a conference, welcome reception and networking events - Develop a virtual conference platform that supports live streaming - Design of a hybrid event that caters to a mix of online and onsite audiences - Set up an event website and develop registration form What you will be working on: - Assist in providing end-to-end support for physical and online events, which includes video production, building virtual platform, developing website, logistics planning, on-site event management - Work with event management company to develop concept, storyboard, design of physical and online events - Liaise with vendors and solutions providers to build the virtual conference platform - Support the events team on the set-up and operations of running live streaming events - Provide administrative support to internal teams, such as working on timeline, budget etcWhat we are looking for:- Driven and Hardworking individual who wants to succeed in a fast-paced working environment - Passionate about running conferences and creating event experiences - Able to work independently and under pressure - Organised and able to meet tight timelines - Ideally have some knowledge of Zoom Meetings/Webinars - Prior experience in planning or executing virtual/physical event is an advantage - Strong written and oral communications skills Note: As this is an event-related role, you may be asked to work on weekends and evenings as required We are looking for interns who can commit for a period of at least 6 months.About Ministry of Law:In Singapore, having the rule of law and advancing people\'s access to justice are not just lofty ideals but the backbone of a functioning and a progressive society.
