We welcome you to join our team as: JUDICIAL ASSOCIATE FAMILY JUSTICE COURTSWhat you will be working on:We are looking for a Judicial Associate to assist the Judges on the efficient management and disposal of cases and support for judicial projects and initiatives. The duties of the Judicial Associate include the following: Work with the Judges on case files, including reviewing the files and evaluating and identifying any issues which may arise and proposing any follow-up action which may be required (such as drafting replies to parties); Research and identify appropriate legislation and case laws for each case file and drafting case briefs or memoranda; Sit in on the cases and assist the Judge in drafting the Grounds of Decision, where necessary; Research into family laws and practices of other countries; Provide administrative support and legal input for judicial projects and initiatives that further the objectives of the Family Justice Courts; Conduct environmental scanning to keep abreast of the changes in the arena of family law and practices; Provide legal and administrative support on areas relating to family law and practices in Singapore, including building and maintaining a database of relevant case laws (which includes a repository of relevant Grounds of Decisions by the High Court) and making any requisite amendments to the relevant family law legislation, including the Family Justice Act, the Women's Charter and all related subsidiary legislation and Practice Directions; Liaise with the relevant agencies/ministries on any changes relating to family law and practices in Singapore, including working on gazettes; Work with the Judges to revise and update any requisite manuals relating to standard operating procedures, such as the Bench Manual; and Develop and maintain a Database Management system.What we are looking for:

  • A Qualified Person as defined in the Legal Profession Act (Cap 161) Preferably 1 to 3 years of working experience; prior experience in Family Law Strong analytical, critical thinking, drafting, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure Ability to work independently and yet be a team player Note: Applicants are required to submit relevant document(s) that indicate their eligibility as Qualified Persons. The successful candidate will be appointed on a one-year probationary contract in the first instance. Only short-listed candidates will be notified.
