Job Purpose/Role

This role is based in Singapore, our Asia Pacific office, reporting to the Regional Head of Legal & Compliance APAC. This role provides support for the Singapore and Hong Kong office for implementation and maintenance of the Compliance programme, as well as Legal support.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement and maintain the Compliance programs for AGCS Singapore and Hong Kong, liaising with Global Compliance on requirements and roll out.
• Perform gap analysis and coordinate the implementation of legislation and regulations as required.
• To organise, track and conduct Contract Certainty Training and New Joiners' Compliance training for SG and HK, as well as liaise and co-ordinate with Global Compliance on global training rollouts and training stats for the region, as required.
• Keep abreast of global and local Sanctions Updates and support the Business to ensure compliance.
• Update and disseminate GSSS alerts clearance for Singapore and Hong Kong, and coordinating the same with the L&C teams in the region.
• To co-ordinate and facilitate the corporate governance filings for Singapore, Hong Kong and Myanmar, which includes the annual filings of audited statements and liaising with the head office on changes pertaining to directors and/or CEO.
• Draft, review and amend commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with local legislation and regulatory environment.
• Provide Legal advice and support to the respective functions as directed by the Regional Head Legal & Compliance APAC from time to time.
• Any other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities, as assigned by manager or any other authority.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business, Economics or a related field.
• At least 2 or more years of experience in the Legal and/or Compliance function in banks or insurance-related companies.
• Good knowledge of the Legal & Compliance landscape in Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Independent, reliable and highly motivated; possesses a problem-solving mindset.
• Entrepreneurial and comfortable in working through new and ambiguous situations.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and able to take the initiative to work on issues proactively.
• Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese or other languages highly advantageous.
• Legal and/or Insurance qualifications are advantageous.
