We are looking for a Lead Legal Counsel to help manage all legal issues and support the business on a variety of legal matters across the globe. Reporting to the Group Legal Director, Head of Legal (Global), this is a mid-senior hire for the global legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the continuing development of Lemmatree, Temsek group's venture-building holding company, which pioneers change through building ventures based on decentralised technologies and focuses on providing all communities with trusted ownership, sharing, and distribution of their data. Currently Lemmatree has three ventures Affinidi, Goodworker and Trustana. This role is based out of Singapore.
What's in it for you:
Owning and keeping under constant review all the group's global data protection needs including putting in place policies, guidance, remedial plans as necessary and centralising processes.
Partnering with all key business areas, in particular the IT Security team, to ensure data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects and initiatives.
Structuring, reviewing, negotiating all M&A transactions globally including fund-raising, investment transactions by the group.
Working on corporate restructurings.
Advising on intellectual property needs of the group.
Managing disputes and contentious matters.
Liaising with teams for finalizing and roll out of governance policies relating to IT, HR, anti-bribery, and business.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diversified commercial contracts and other business vertical contracts.
Being up to date on the relevant laws and collaborate with global internal stakeholders for advising on compliances.
Assisting Lemmatree entities in their day-to-day legal work.
You will be a great match if you possess:
Common law qualified lawyer with around 7-8 years PQE.
Experience in data privacy, M&A, commercial contracting, and intellectual property matters.
Excellent knowledge and in-depth understanding of corporate laws and procedures.
High work standards.
Technical & Personal Skills:
Excellent writing, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines and manage own caseload.
Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise with people across the business.
Collaborative and highly capable in building trust internally and externally
Proactive in areas of identifying and working on legal risks.
