Job Description


Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of Risk, Legal and Compliance and working with other members of the RLC team and external counsel in Singapore and overseas subsidiaries.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders and management to provide legal support and advice to various business groups across EDMI group.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents across the Group.
  • Identify potential legal issues in the Group’s operation and offer proactive advice on legal issues.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (business partners, regulators, outside counsel etc) as necessary.
  • Log legal requests and maintain documentation on a contracts management tool.
  • Provide input and support on the Group’s global and regional initiatives and projects on an ad hoc basis.
  • Confident to work independently and possess work experiences in at least two of the following areas: Contract laws; Corporate laws; Data Protection laws; Employment Laws; Commercialisation of Intellectual Properties; Sanction laws; or Litigation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB) or JD from a reputable law school.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in the same or related roles of an in-house legal team or in private practice in those areas mentioned above.
  • Experienced working on cross border transactions, preferably with exposure to Asia Pacific region.
  • Experienced working in a multinational manufacturing, shipping or commodity industry in particular manufacturing and supply of electronics.
