The successful candidate will work closely with the secondary market legal team in Hong Kong and the firm\'s legal team and compliance officer in Singapore. He/She will work on secondary market legal matters for equities sales and trading (\xe2\x80\x9cEQ\xe2\x80\x9d), fixed income, currencies and commodities (\xe2\x80\x9cFICC\xe2\x80\x9d) and wealth management (\xe2\x80\x9cWM\xe2\x80\x9d) businesses. The job responsibilities associated with this role may be expected to include but not limited to:

• Negotiating, structuring and documenting various securities, financing and funds transactions (including OTC derivative transactions), providing legal advice directly to EQ/FICC/WM business;
• Reviewing and negotiating contracts / documents;
• Identifying and analyzing the impact of legal, regulatory, industry and market developments to EQ/FICC/WM businesses or to the firm as a whole;
• Putting in place appropriate training and creating new policies and procedures to reflect the changes or updating existing ones, which includes changes to financial services regulation;
• Exercising sound business and legal judgment and demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism in dealing with clients and colleagues;
• Handling other assignments designated by Hong Kong Legal Head from time to time.

\xe4\xbb\xbb\xe8\x81\x8c\xe8\xb5\x84\xe6\xa0\xbc\xef\xbc\x9a Skills and Abilities

• 3-15 years of experience at a corporate law firm and/or financial institution
• Extensive work experience in secondary market, sales and trading, fixed income and/or wealth management sectors
• Familiar with legal and regulatory matters related to brokerage, structured products, and general corporate and securities issues, including but not limited to the Securities and Futures Act, ISDA Agreement, GMRA, GMSLA, the MAS, the CMS License, client money, and other laws and regulations generally applicable to the securities industry
• Knowledge of PRC law would be an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal skills with fluency in written and spoken English and ideally in Mandarin
• Excellent writing and analytical abilities
• Proactive and resourceful
• Good working attitude, team player and able to work well under pressure
• Attentive to detail

Qualifications

• Law degree from law school
• Singapore qualified lawyer
