About Markets Barclays Investment Bank's Markets teams serves their institutional investor clients by helping them to understand developments in global markets and offering execution and risk management tools and solutions across every major asset class in every region. About Macro
The Macro business brings together the firm’s FX, Rates, and Local Markets offering on a consolidated platform to streamline our clients’ buying and trading activities across rates and currencies products. Overall purpose of role A role for a Structured Solutions salesperson with coverage of Institutional Clients for Macro Products (Global Rates and FX). The role will be multifaceted; solutions-driven conversations with clients, partner internal stakeholders on product enablement, distribution of Barclays’ global and regional macro markets content, ideas and products to our institutional client franchise.
Key Accountabilities

  • Client Coverage of Barclays’ institutional client franchise in the Southeast Asia region, with a focus on regional banks, family offices, asset managers.
  • Ability to differentiate themselves and is able to drive business and identify business opportunities
  • Ensure appropriate management of trade execution/client communication
  • Collaborate with Trading, Structuring, Research etc to effectively and efficiently deliver the relevant suite of Barclays’ capabilities and services to the client
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to build new business, expand product shelf, partner with teams across asset classes

Stakeholder Management and Leadership
  • Primary coverage of a portfolio of clients while working in a team environment to ensure seamless client coverage with immediate team
  • Develop strong client relationships and work with internal stakeholders to deliver the resources for the firm to address clients’ needs
  • Strengthen and expand client relationships and product scope to deepen business partnerships

Decision-making and Problem Solving
  • Work with senior team members to maximise business and to optimise returns
  • Work with structuring partners to customize and provide solutions to clients in order to differentiate Barclays against others

Risk and Control Objective Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification
  • Strong macro knowledge and solutions background
  • Established client relationships with Financial Institutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Relevant experience in the financial industry required
  • Experience and ability to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of regulatory and compliance procedures and how they relate to the Rates & FX business
  • Excellent team orientated work ethic
  • Proven ability to use appropriate judgement and apply business/commercial sense
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact comfortably with colleagues across the organization both, within and outside Markets

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge derivative FX/ Rates products, including interest rate/ cross currency swaps, FX/ Rates options, fixed income asset swaps, etc. Good working knowledge in DM/ EM sovereign, supranational and agency bonds is also essential.
  • Strong understanding of the key drivers of macro markets and possesses the ability to engage clients on macro views, trade opportunities and idea generation.
  • Well-developed skills in managing client relationships across various seniority levels and types of financial institutions.
