Job Description




The position is an integral member of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST) Student Life Office and will be responsible for administering all admission-related matters at the Conservatory. The individual is the front-facing liaison to prospective applicants and will conduct regular outreach activities to market for admissions, facilitate and conduct auditions for all offered majors locally and overseas. The individual will also be the main coordinator of all specialised instrumental/composition workshops designed to engage the music community.

Duties & Responsibilities
Admissions

  • Plan and administer regular outreach activities to promote the Conservatory\'s degree programmes to prospective students in high schools, junior colleges and polytechnics.
  • Develop and implement student recruitment campaigns across traditional and digital media.
  • Manage all admission enquiries.
  • Administer the YST admissions portal and application materials.
  • Facilitate all audition set-up requirements including securing overseas audition venues.
  • Schedule all auditions for admissions.
  • Administer all assessment sheets and grading process.
  • Administer and communicate application results to applicants.
Outreach
  • Administer and manage all outreach activities including NUS and YST Open Day, as well as education fairs in high schools.
  • Faculty representation for all NUS outreach activities.
  • Main liaison with the NUS Office of Admissions on annual publication.
  • Workshops
  • Manage and administer all the operational requirements of specialised workshops including the Young Composers\' Academy, YST Piano Academy, YST Double Reed Day and Mix with YST workshops.
  • Main coordinator for the Young Artist Programme and a proposed new Young Artist Academy.
Qualifications
  • Degree from a recognised university.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good grasp of written and spoken English.
  • Self-driven, proactive, organized and able to work both independently and collaboratively and in a flexible manner - out of office hours as required.
  • Meticulous, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Creative, self-starter, and creative in marketing for admissions.
  • Good team player
  • Service-oriented with conceptual and analytical mindset.
  • Musical background required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel) required.
  • Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Applications) an advantage.
  • Experience in managing arts groups an advantage.
