We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, ASP Strategy & Planning.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the preparation of materials for WPB leadership meetings and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate effectively across various teams such as Strategy & Planning and Finance in support of key events such as the Investor Day, Board strategy offsite etc.
  • Support communication and implementation of developed strategy in coordination with WPB business teams across a regional, country and global level
  • Working with internal stakeholders to assist WPB in the development and monitoring of KPIs aligned to the agreed strategy and AOP, highlighting impacts on the longer term performance of the business and building financial analyses supporting strategy development, strategic initiatives, business reviews etc.
  • Support regular risk and governance performance reporting including but not limited to: development, tracking and quarterly assessment of performance scorecards; coordination and reporting of strategic risk; tracking and reporting of initiatives and priorities etc.
  • Actively building effective working relationships and networks across the immediate and wider Strategy and Planning function; and within WPB and its supporting functions
  • Support development of WPB strategy by undertaking research and analysis across customer, market, competitor, regulatory and other trends
  • Undertake research and analysis across customer, market, competitor, mobile/digital, regulatory and other trends to support development of business strategy, reviews of country WPB businesses etc. Prepare briefing notes on significant events, reports and trends to improve team understanding
  • Provide analytical insight and project management support for strategic projects including but not limited to feasibility studies, market / business / product / segment reviews, analyses of strategic options etc as delegated by line manager. Monitor and review projects, and provide timely and appropriate escalation to senior management as required
  • Provide analytical insight and project management support to WPB Senior Executives for key strategic initiatives
  • Monitor and assess the financial and non-financial performance of key competitors, including the rollout of new initiatives
Requirements

  • Good understanding of both HSBC overall and WPB business line
  • Awareness of broad priorities in the Group and in the wider financial services industry
  • Strong commercial awareness and judgement
  • Strong competency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to concisely, accurately and effectively structure and communicate both content and message with limited guidance
  • Very strong analytical skills, evidenced through an excellent academic record
  • Initiative, independence and judgement, balancing pragmatism and commercial considerations with broader strategic goals and an understanding of the needs of key stakeholders
  • Ability and drive to deliver high quality work under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand and navigate sensitive situations with conflicting stakeholder needs
  • Ability to maintain focus on details, whilst considering/interpreting these in the context of strategic priorities
  • Confidence and maturity in dealing with senior executives
  • Positive \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude with a preference for working in teams
  • Resourceful and innovative mindset
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and unfamiliarity, and able to independently develop new skills and knowledge to find solutions to problems
