Objectives of the Position

The Business Sustainability Lead will be responsible for the sustainability strategy Agricultural Solutions in Asia Pacific, driving its implementation and ensuring understanding of the sustainability commitments in agriculture. This comprises for business activities, scouting and developing sustainable business models and initiatives, incl. carbon farming, as well as communications, government, and public affairs, incl. industry association representation.

Main Tasks:

• Develop the regional sustainability strategy considering global and regional sustainability priorities.
• Design and drive implementation of the local Business Sustainability Strategy for key countries by considering global and regional priorities, local stakeholder expectations, local policy initiatives and local business strategy
• Align sustainability strategy with the Leadership teams and determine local governance processes and required process of collaboration with local regulatory, marketing, technical and other functions as required.
• Ensure clear plans are in place which deliver against each pillar of the sustainability strategy.
• Develop strategic partnerships and oversee effective community engagement with stakeholder groups.
• In collaboration with the industry associations, advocate on local policy initiatives and legal framework development
• Ensure sustainable business strategy is well understood across internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree, Business Management, or other related field.
• Proven track record of influencing and persuading others without authority, being quite inquisitive, open, and curious, while taking on social and business responsibility.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Preferable work experience in Public Affairs with relevant exposure in governmental relations, advocacy, interactions with NGO, business councils, and institutional organizations such as regulatory and policy think-tanks.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of non-financial reporting standards
• Ability to speak more than one language
