Role Summary: We are hiring a lawyer with at least 7 to 8 years\' post-qualifications experience (PQE) to advise the group on banking and finance transactions.

Responsibilities:

You are on a journey to join an exciting group and be part of our success story. Here we will equip you with the know-how and experience that will define your growth. In this role that you are about to embark on, you are required to carry out the following responsibilities:

1. Influence the strategic development and structuring of banking and finance transactions, including cross-border lending and taking of security;

2. Provide legally sound and commercially oriented advice to business units across various jurisdictions within the group, including advising on the operational aspects of banking and finance structures;

3. Review, amend and/or negotiate the terms and conditions of banking and finance documentation, including for bilateral facilities, ISDA facilities, trade facilities and syndicated facilities for business units across various jurisdictions within the group with a view to minimising risk and exposure for the group;

4. Ensure that the rights of the group are adequately protected vis-\xc3\xa0-vis third parties;

5. Provide legal advisory services to management on the interpretation and application of contractual provisions for the efficient and effective performance of legal contracts and draft legal opinions where required by management to facilitate decision making;

6. Where the appointment of an external law firm is needed, provide appropriate instructions on the relevant transaction and supervise the performance of services by the external law firm so as to mitigate the risks and protect the interests of the group;

7. Monitor and evaluate the delivery of services by the external law firm to ensure the organisation gets the best value for the fees paid;
8. Assess the quality of deliverables of external legal services to ensure the group gets the best value for the fees paid; and
9. Review new relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance by the group.

Requirements:

Requirements

1. Be a qualified advocate and/or solicitor or lawyer, preferably in a common law jurisdiction.

2. Be familiar with banking products\xe2\x80\x99 terms and conditions, LMA and APLMA documentation, and market standards.

3. Have at least 7 to 8 years\' PQE dealing with banking and finance transactions although a suitable, qualified advocate and/or solicitor or lawyer with 7 to 8 years\' PQE dealing with corporate and commercial matters may also be considered.

4. Be proficient in English (verbal and written) and possession of a working knowledge of Chinese / Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu will be viewed as an added advantage.

5. Be detail-oriented and organised.

6. Possess sound analytical skills, good verbal and written communications skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

7. Be able to prioritise work and perform under pressure with minimal supervision.

8. Be willing to contribute know-how and be a pro-active complementary team player

9. Have integrity, be discreet and be able to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
