Job Description


What the role is:

The Industry & CUGE Division (Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology) of the National Parks Board oversees the industry development, applied research and skills training for sectors and industries under the purview of NParks such as landscaping, conservation/ecology, orchids, fauna such as ornamental fishes etc. Our goal is uplifting companies and people in these sectors by enhancement of productivity, improvement in business operations and raising the level of professionalism of the sectors and also enabling digitalisation and innovation for the industry.

What the role is

The role is for overseeing and assisting tenants to achieve Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) / Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) status and day-to-day tenancy matters of nursery and farm plots for the landscape, orchid and ornamental fish sectors. The position is part of a team that plan and develop space, buildings and infrastructure for these sectors.

What you will be working on

Review building and development plans submitted by tenants

Track progress of tenants in clearing regulatory requirements and progress of construction.

Facilitate & trouble shoot clearance of regulatory requirements where necessary

Work with internal teams and external parties to plan and develop a steady supply of space, buildings and infrastructure for the landscape nursery, orchid and ornamental fish industry

Carry out regular engagement with nurseries and farm i.e. site visits to obtain first-hand direct observations

What we are looking for

Degree in Real Estate, Architecture or Civil Engineering or other related fields of study.

Good listening and interpersonal skills are essential as these positions involves interacting with a wide range of industry partners.

Ability to speak Mandarin and dialects will be an advantage to engage stakeholders who may not be English speaking,

The job requires strong analytical, planning, organising and presentation skills

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Successful candidates will be offered a 9-month employment contract.
