Data Analytics has been recognized as one of the key drivers to powering Income’s journey towards being a leading Insurer in the region. Hence as we ramp up data analytics capabilities, we want to balance this by scaling up Data Governance to support this journey by responsible and trusted consumption of data.

This is an opportunity to scale up the Data Governance (DG) journey in Income. In the last 1+ year Income has laid the basic foundation of DG. Here is a chance to shape this journey strategically and scale up the role of DG in the organisation.


We are looking for an experienced DG manager to be responsible for policy drafting, publishing and implementation. This personnel along with the DG Lead steers the steer the direction of DG at Income and make it a powerful lever towards supporting business ambitions in a responsible way.

• Defining policies and standards, principles, governance metrics and processes and Influence organization behaviour
• Identify stakeholders and establish roles and responsibilities to operationalise policies and processes
• Serve as a liaison between business and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are well established
• Develop & maintain domain maps, and catalogue of key data repositories and their owners
• Define key metrics for governance to ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
• Manage and co-ordinate all key issues and escalations around data governance
• Liaise with compliance, risk and security on all regulatory issues related to data management
• Mentor the internal governance team and engage with necessary service providers to build assets to support governance.
  

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a major financial services organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience running data governance function OR part of the governance team in a large financial services organisation
• Good knowledge of data governance industry practices and trends
• Good understanding of business and technology issues related to management of data, specifically around metadata and quality management
• Good understanding of the information management practices including data life cycle management, data modelling, master data management
• Knowledge of data related regulatory requirements and its implication
• Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
• Experienced with managing internal audit and compliance processes for data in a financial services organisation
