In this role, the HR Manager will be the site HR leader for JTC regional headquarter office, provides strong HR business partnership to Commercial leadership team based in Singapore, Australia, and Taiwan, implement the defined HR-strategies and activities as well as to provide HR-related coordination and holistic counsel for Asia Pacific Commercial teams. The role will establish close relationships with key stakeholders in Commercial team, operating as the trusted confidant and thought partner as it relates to general management, organizational design, compensation, employee relations, internal movement, and development of people. The role will also have close collaboration with both global HR & regional HR COE team, coordinate with country HR business partners for Asia Pacific Commercial team HR initiatives and exemplify the values and attributes of a HR leader for West.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead ground HR management of JTC regional headquarter office for day-to-day HR support
  • Lead strategic and operational HR business partner support for Singapore, Australia, and Taiwan Commercial team. Be a key business partner to provide HR advice/solutions to support business objectives/needs.
  • Be the overall coordinator for the whole Asia Pacific Commercial team HR initiatives in collaboration with peer country HR business partners.
  • Develop and implement key HR initiatives that help advance the business and ensure West has the right talent to achieve its business objectives
  • Lead advancement of HR support in the acquisition, onboarding, development, and retention of talent, working in close collaboration with HR Centers of Excellent.
  • Manage the global performance management and measurement systems at local level to elevate management effectiveness through optimization of employees’ performance
  • Understand global HR policies and practices to support Commercial workforce, including HR clarification around benefits, payroll, HR policies and practices to employees and managers
  • Work with the other global HR business partners on strategic initiatives that develop the workforce through solutions that account for local HR processes and local labor law.
  • Advocate for regional needs and advise the global HR team on local HR policies, practices, and legal implications.
  • Serve as a key member of the broader global Commercial HR team ensuring best practice workforce initiatives are being pursued within West, and ensure that consistent practices are maintained between HR and the business

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field minimum, Master’s degree desired
  • Minimum 8 Years of experience in a similar role with an emphasis on operational and strategic HR management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good knowledge of labor law
  • Good command of English
  • Strong communication skills

  • Sensitivity in dealing with different hierarchy levels
  • High resilience, collaborative, and flexibility
  • Ability to influence people and outcomes
  • Ability to navigate a global matrix with multiple stakeholders with little day-to-day direction
  • Ability to manage 1-2 people for operational support
