Job Description




  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of supported business partner with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts

  • Support creation of yearly financial objectives that align with the business partner's plan for growth and expansion

  • Prepare and may present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget, and cash flow

  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

  • Maintain outstanding relationships with business partners

  • Develop talent / optimize team performance through stretch assignments, leadership exposure, career discussions, feedback, etc.

  • Lead by example displaying GM behaviors, commitment to personal development and commitment to creating a positive Workplace of Choice culture

  • Assist team with understanding the bigger picture and how projects relates to operational strategy / Enterprise goals

  • Anticipate partner needs (proactive vs. reactive)

  • Assist team in prioritization of workload, creating a picture to influence decision-making, facilitate collaboration across staffs, think through key analysis assumptions

Additional

FP&A Specific:


  • Lead GBS FP&A - cost, profitability, Cash Flow and liquidity and overall operating performance, currently for GMIO but may expand to other regions depending on GBS Manila scope
  • Lead New Systems or upgrades for GBS FP&A Operations
    • Ensuring implementations are completed successfully through-out Transformation projects and on-going for future scope
    • Aligning implementations with key leadership stakeholders, including roles and responsibilities and other success factors
    • Bridging any gap amongst country, region and corporate FP&A.
  • Lead Quality Assurance for GBS FP&A
    • Responsible for reviewing and increasing the quality of Operations Finance activities - understanding current process handling and developing/strengthening it to meet changing business expectations
    • Responsible for implementing and driving Quality Assurance process of major finance activities such as variance reporting and analysis and functional reporting, integrating actuals, forecast and budget
  • Lead in identifying gaps from Quality Assurance results with clear and actionable steps for permanent and sustainable resolution, including cross-functional engagement with various stakeholders
  • Operations Lead FP&A Migrations
    • Understanding scope of new migrations - including ownership of service catalogue, resource capability readiness, systems readiness
    • Proactively raising potential opportunities through leveraging on existing GBS skills and scope
  • Strengthen strategic business partnership
    • Lead senior leadership reporting for GBS and FP&A
    • Lead cross-functional discussions with Controllership, as and when necessary, to create synergy with FP&A
  • Lead larger scale project implementations for region standardization/OPEX/LEAN in FP&A space
  • Overall in-charge for GBS GMIO Business Plan - country, region and corporate alignments, scope, roles and responsibilities, documentation
  • Lead in identifying gaps in the process and provide achievable and sustainable solutions
  • Compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Ability to redefine processes
  • Train, develop, coach, motivate, and evaluate employees including
    • CAP assessments
    • Probationary period assessments
    • PIP assessments
    • Pulse Check/1:1 Conversations
    • HRM committee meetings

Overall:
  • Manage/supervise day-to-day operations of multiple teams, and ensure efficient and accurate completion of financial analysis, transactions, special projects and other activities;
  • Lead development and implementation of best practice processes to achieve operational excellence and compliance with required accounting standards/ GM policies;
  • Drive continuous improvement for in-scope business processes per defined service level agreements/KPIs and deliver the forecasted financial benefits on-schedule and within budget;
  • Focus on customer service and satisfaction, including developing/ monitoring/ publishing a holistic SLA/KPI performance dashboard (including metrics such as cost, quality, controls and customer satisfaction, etc.) and engaging key stakeholders in performance dialogues;
  • Work with the Financial Assurance team to ensure an effective compliance and governance process and monitor progress, risks/issues, and ensure control focus in mitigation process;
  • Establish a customer-centric culture for process team, including highly collaborative relationships with business units and regional stakeholders;
  • Develop appropriate employee goal setting/CAP and development linked to overall Center objectives and specific job function goals, and focus on talent development;
  • Owner of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreement (SLA), with focus on quality, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
  • Responsible for reviewing and increasing the quality of activities - understanding current process handling and developing/strengthening it to meet changing business expectations
  • Responsible for implementing and driving programs/processes that strengthen the quality of major activities
  • Lead in identifying gaps from operational performance results with clear and actionable steps for permanent and sustainable resolution, including cross-functional engagement with various stakeholders
  • Develop and implement process flow to ensure stakeholder satisfaction promoting quality and accuracy
  • Understanding scope of new migrations - how they fit in the service catalogue, resource capability readiness, systems readiness
  • Proactively raising potential opportunities through leveraging on existing GBS skills and scope
  • Strengthen strategic business partnership

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related discipline
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in finance industry
  • Prior FP&A experience required, regional and/or global experience preferred
  • Appreciation of multi-national corporation requirements in driving operational compliance and excellence
  • Experience with managing under Service Level Agreement (SLA), Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance metrics and monitoring for in scope activities.
  • Prior shared service engagement experience - either directly or indirectly gained through client services
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and multi-culturally
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Migrations experience preferred
  • Project manager experience preferred
