What the role is
About Outward Bound Singapore - a division of National Youth Council (NYC) Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) is a member of Outward Bound International - a global network of Outward Bound schools operating in 35 countries. Established in 1967, OBS is recognised for its leading experience in outdoor education with more than 500,000 people trained. Our staff are highly qualified professionals with an affinity for the outdoors and passion for developing people. As a national training institution, our mission is to develop mentally and physically rugged youths to be active citizens inspired to serve the community. You will be part of the Transformation Team at OBS, driving key transformational changes in OBS. You will report directly to Deputy Director of Partnership & Transformation Strategy and work closely with Coney Implementation Office.
What you will be working on
As Manager/ Senior Manager, you will drive digital projects and initiatives across OBS. This includes tracking, synthesising and prioritising these projects, in partnership with NYC Transformation Office, OBS Artificial Intelligence and Technology (AI and Tech) Team, OBS units with key digital projects and vendors providing digital solutions. To achieve this, you will need to develop a good understanding of business operations of the different teams in OBS to recommend appropriate solutions to improve business productivity. If you have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, you can be appointed as Senior Manager. You will explore analytics opportunities and work with the OBS leadership team to refine/plan digital transformation roadmap for OBS. Hence, you will work with various units within OBS to manage the business requirements and recommend solutions in digitalisation and technology. This includes co-ordinating with OBS project leads to provide necessary support and in-depth analysis to identify problems and recommend improvement opportunities and best practices. For a holistic digital development in OBS, you will provide an overview and synthesize tools, platforms and technology used across OBS projects. As part of OBS Transformation Team, you will work with other technical partners (e.g. NYC Transformation Office, GovTech) and OBS project owners to help ensure digital projects are implemented on time, within business requirements, and comply with IT governance framework including data security and resilience. The scope will include managing and monitoring project milestones, risk and change management to ensure timely delivery of project on schedule, within budget and scope.
What we are looking for
• Knowledge and skills in related fields such as project management, computer science, IOT, user experience, etc, and is tech-savvy and data-driven • Experience in overseeing multiple cross-functional projects and facilitating change initiative, including experience in project tracking and issue management • Experience in coaching project leads and conducting trainings related to managing digital projects • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Results-oriented, self-starter who can work in and collaborate with diverse teams of different backgrounds, perspectives, and skill sets. Able to organise, facilitate and conclude cross-unit discussions. • Organised, detail-orientated and able to work independently • Good verbal communication and presentation skills • Motivated, proactive and optimistic about challenges • Able to be based at any of OBS' campuses / sites and travel between sites (e.g. Pulau Ubin, East Coast Campus, Punggol Reception & Activity Centre, Changi Campsite, and OBS@Coney in the future)
