What the role is:The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the First Responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our biophilic City in Nature.What you will be working onManage building operations at The Animal Lodge (TAL)s which include civil engineering and infrastructure improvement works, plumbing and sanitary maintenance/works, mechanical and electrical maintenance/works, pest control, decluttering operations, conducting annual fire drills, facilitating table-top exercises, conducting safety and equipment checks, managing security and facilitating the operations of other AVS functions at TAL.Assist in managing contracts which include conceptualising, establishing and/or revising specifications, evaluating and awarding tenders timely and ensuring that contractors and contract users adhere to contractual requirements to ensure optimal performance throughout the contract period.Engaging stakeholders such as contractors, tenants, public to strengthen relationships for better collaboration while also working cohesively with other branches within AVS to ensure smooth operations at TAL.Provide estate management support for Animal Management Centre.Perform other assignments or projects as requiredWhat we are looking forDegree in facility management, engineering, or other related disciplinesHighly motivated and independent individualInnovative and resourceful individual who can work well with a diverse group of stakeholdersGood team player with strong interpersonal and project management skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsWilling to work after office hours and during weekends when requiredOther InformationCandidate must be comfortable working in proximity with animalsOffice will be located at The Animal Lodge (59 Sungei Tengah Road, Singapore 699014)About National Parks Board:At the National Parks Board (NParks), we take pride in conserving our natural heritage and enhancing green spaces for all to enjoy in our City in Nature.
