Manager/ Assistant Director
Industry Facilitation Department (Food Businesses Section)
Industry Development and Partnership Division

Purpose:
The Industry Facilitation Department (Food Businesses Section) drives industry development of the food businesses sector through facilitating business development and capability building initiatives to transform and drive the growth of Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s food traders, food manufacturers and food service companies.

Job Responsibilities:
Candidate\xe2\x80\x99s key job roles include:
a. Facilitating business development opportunities for food businesses, to drive the growth of Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s food business sector, in support of our overall food security and food safety strategies. This comprises:
i. Planning and identifying food sourcing opportunities (from local and overseas markets) such as organising sourcing and business matching missions
ii. Functioning as the key point of contact in SFA for engagement and coordination with industry associations and partners for food security, food sourcing, overseas investment, and regulatory matters
iii. Maintaining rapport with food businesses for market intelligence, feedback, and information sharing
b. Promoting the adoption of industry standards and best practices amongst food businesses. This comprises:
i. Building a sound understanding of regional/global food industry through research and analysis of local and global business trends, as well as Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s priorities in key thematic areas relating to the needs of food businesses
ii. Identifying, establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including other government agencies (e.g., ESG), institutions of higher learning, research institutions and industry partners to develop solutions for businesses upgrading and growth
iii. Disseminating information on industry trends and relevant support schemes to food businesses through industry engagement sessions and industry associations
c. Facilitating food businesses\xe2\x80\x99 uptake of technology to improve productivity through assessing technological options that could be extended to food businesses for adoption and facilitating the link-up of food businesses with technology solution providers and institutions of higher learning.

d. Promote the offtake of local produce among food businesses in support of SFA\xe2\x80\x99s 30 by 30 goal through developing offtake initiatives specific to the food businesses sector.
e. Organising and participating in international events to profile Singapore as a thought leader in urban food solutions.

Qualifications:
A degree with 3 year\xe2\x80\x99s work experience or 1 year of account management would be preferred.

Other Requirements:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills. Fluency in Chinese is essential to communicate with the Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

• Business-savvy, possess industry knowledge and account management skills.
• Analytical, self-motivated, result-oriented and dynamic. Able to thrive under pressure, work independently and within a team.
• Competent in advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
