What the role is:The Strategic Communications team drives the strategic narrative and content for NYC initiatives. We develop integrated communications strategies to achieve these outcomes - increase mindshare of NYC and its divisions and engage youths and stakeholders through content that resonates with our target audiences. As the amplifiers for NYC, we plan and manage the public relations, marketing and digital engagement efforts to effectively communicate NYC\'s vision and outcomes to the public.What you will be working on:This is a one-year contract role with the Strategic Communications department. As Manager/Assistant Manager for Strategic Communications, you will assist the team in strategising, developing and executing a wide range integrated communication plans and activities to support key publicity and amplification efforts for NYC and its key divisions, Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) and Youth Corps Singapore (YCS). As a team member of the Strategic Communications team, you will work with multiple stakeholders and partners to spearhead dynamic communication strategies to amplify key NYC initiatives, inspirational youth stories and youth sector efforts. To excel in this role, you should be familiar with the youth landscape and be able to provide counsel to internal stakeholders on suitable communications strategies to assist them in meeting amplification and project objectives, and managing crisis situations from a communications perspective. As part of this role, you will gain valuable experience and enhance your skills through the following responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Support media campaigns such as drafting of media materials and preparing logistics required (media RSVPs, pitching etc.) \xe2\x80\xa2 Support marketing activations such as liaising with external agencies such as media, creative and events companies, to deliver the campaign or roadshows \xe2\x80\xa2 Working with internal stakeholders and divisions to facilitate media projects (factfinding, factchecking etc.)What we are looking for:

  • Background in communication studies, corporate communications, public relations, media relations, marketing communications, or equivalent \xe2\x80\xa2 Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines \xe2\x80\xa2 Highly motivated individual who is meticulous, resourceful and able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment \xe2\x80\xa2 Good understanding of both mainstream and digital media, social media channels and trends. Advantageous if one possesses prior media management skills and experience in managing integrated communications campaigns \xe2\x80\xa2 Good writing and editing skills for content development, including excellent command of written and spoken English \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills - a team player with strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams and network with the media
