What the role is:You will work on policies and schemes to meet the housing needs of low-income families, vulnerable groups (e.g. single parents), and the elderly. You will need to work with a range of organisations within and outside of government, and handle housing appeal cases.What you will be working on:You will monitor, review and implement policies and schemes: \xe2\x80\xa2 To meet the housing needs of low-income families and vulnerable groups (e.g. single parents), including guidelines for appeals; \xe2\x80\xa2 On public rental housing, to ensure it remains an accessible and affordable safety net for those without other housing options, and work with social agencies to help tenants eventually progress to homeownership; \xe2\x80\xa2 To expand the housing options for seniors, including working with other infrastructure and social agencies to explore new housing-with-care models; and \xe2\x80\xa2 On the management of arrears, including collaboration with other agencies to improve social intervention and assistance for needy families.What we are looking for:Candidate shoul \xe2\x80\xa2 Have a strong interest in public policy making; \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess logical and sound analytical abilities; \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess sensitivity to social, economic and political concerns; \xe2\x80\xa2 Be able to manage and build consensus across internal and external stakeholders; \xe2\x80\xa2 Have good writing and communication skills; \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess good problem-solving skills; and \xe2\x80\xa2 Be a team player and also be able to work independently.About Ministry of National Development:The Ministry of National Development (MND), the lead government agency responsible for land use planning and infrastructure development, aims to transform Singapore into an endearing home and a distinctive global city.
