Our purpose for Consumer Channel & Partner Marketing (CCPM) is to be the voice for our customers, create visibility and consistency for our brand and add value through best-in-class global marketing.

We are seeking a Modern Life Marketing lead , (Surface, Windows and M365) and a key member of the Channel & Partner Marketing leadership team for South-East Asia, Korea and India sub-region to lead a diverse, dynamic marketing team responsible for bringing our products and services to life with more than 2.5 billion consumers through our key partners across our consumer channels.



Success will be achieved by facilitating deep integration with internal partnerships, across the S-KI, with marketing planning, product marketing, media and creative teams, category/product management, Influence teams, digital marketing and sales teams, to deliver on business and marketing objectives. At the heart of your efforts will be the target consumers and retail partners, as your work will drive consumers through the funnel to a point of conversion in retail.

The Marketing Lead for Modern Life (Surface, Windows and M365) will be a subject matter expert across the product range and a B2C marketing expert, who understands the consumer and the media and retail landscape in our sub-region. You will be responsible for building end to end marketing plans across your product portfolio, to land and activate product priorities that exceed the business goals. You will work closely with the product category teams, marketing planning, partner readiness & influence, digital, sales and partner marketing teams in S-KI, to build effective campaigns and marketing tactics that impact all parts of the marketing funnel. This will include ensuring consistency at all touch points include direct to consumer and thru partner co marketing as well as online & in-store merchandising, product evangelism and direct sales motions. This role is pivotal and accountable to drive growth in revenue, profit and share for Windows, M365, Surface and CCSM. Your passion for our products, consumers and our partners will support the teams in the sub regions to deliver execution excellence, a strong focus on ROI and accountability to conversion.

You will act as a thought leader, a trusted advisor to drive strategic decisions about the marketing strategy and marketing mix including direct to consumer, social, digital platforms, in-store presence, and retail activation. You're an omnichannel expert, who will support landing effective consumer messaging and omnichannel marketing tactics. You will also be a champion of the brand and an evangelist of connected product stories, as you think globally while acting locally, ensuring that brand messages are localized effectively. You'll drive impact by leveraging data and insights in order to create more effective marketing, personalized experiences and maximize ROI. You will be responsible for driving research and sharing and utilizing insights across marketing tactics for modern life products.


You will also be someone who is passionate about inclusivity and are inspired by collaborating with high performing and multi-cultural, sales, category, and marketing teams. Whilst this is an Individual Contributor role, it is also a leadership role, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills through the leadership of virtual teams across S-KI.

Drive and facilitate Modern Life campaigns, that drive consumers through the funnel to a point of conversion across the Asia region, Support deep integration with internal partners, across Marketing Planning, Product Marketing, Media and Creative teams, Category Management, Influence, Digital Marketing and Sales teams to deliver on business and marketing objectives for the Modern Life product range.



(35%) Strategic Business Planning:

  • Partner with the Modern Life product category leads in S-KI to plan activity and tactics to meet the business objectives
  • Work with Asia Modern Life lead to land seasonal marketing plans that maintain channel momentum and profitability, tailored to geo, partner and, consumer needs
  • Develop a modern marketing mix that focuses on omnichannel innovation and maximizing ROI across the product portfolio
  • Role model a culture of integrity and compliance, where trust and transparency are core to all decisions
  • Collaborate on and drive co-marketing campaigns with our silicon and hardware/device partners
  • Design marketing strategies that support the growth of subscription services as well as device sales


(35%) Build and Execute Compelling Campaigns across the region
  • Ownership & alignment of marketing plans & budgets to business objectives & regional strategy
  • Drive regular Marketing Council meetings working with category teams, Global Media Team (GMT) and Integrated Marketing Teams (IMM), PR and Partner Marketing Teams to plan product launch moments leveraging key media, tactics and partner touchpoints
  • Activate consumer marketing vehicles as part of integrated marketing campaigns, leveraging omnichannel initiatives, partner activation teams and physical store environment to drive a thru the line approach
  • Work with the country teams to differentiate Microsoft products, drive consistency of brand messaging through the funnel by building locally relevant campaigns that stand out in the marketplace
  • Localize global campaigns & work with country teams to build/adapt creative for regional nuances, regional audiences and partner requirements
  • Look for one Microsoft marketing opportunities, driving efficiency across products where possible and leverage collaboration opportunities such as seasonal selling beats
  • Support the subscription growth targets by expanding expertise in subscription marketing tactics and opportunities
  • Deliver against timelines, budgets, and scorecards while also capitalizing on innovation opportunities


(20%) Partner Experiences and Execution Excellence
  • This role is responsible for ensuring that marketing messaging, product assets and campaign assets are landed consistently through the line, and that the consumer journey is seamless. Therefore, you must work with all internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to support each function (eCommerce, Influence, Training and Presence) acting as a custodian of our brands
  • Support Partner Marketing teams to ensure that partners Omnichannel capabilities and target audiences are leveraged to maximise impact
  • Ensure all activity is coordinated and all functional teams have all assets and all key product messaging relevant to each country in a timely manner
  • Deliver against timelines, budgets, and scorecards while also capitalizing on innovation opportunities across the region
  • Drive creation and review of monthly and quarterly feedback/reporting in support of regular business milestones across the region
  • Ensure brand consistency and deep understanding of the customer, competitive and marketing landscape. Be the voice of S-KI to the Asia team to ensuring requirements and nuances are integrated
  • Proficient across Microsoft programs, platforms and tools


(10%) Analytics and Insights:
  • Analyze performance results against expected metrics and execution activities to identify opportunities and action plans
  • Incorporate key insights from audiences, media, countries and partners to drive informed marketing action plans
  • Create a culture of learning, encouraging tests and trials that constantly move our marketing performance forward
  • Own key audience research and insights reports and land them in the region
  • Work with marketing insights team and Finance to review marketing ROI
Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:
  • College degree or relative work experiences
  • 10+ years relevant experience in direct to consumer marketing
  • Proven success in modern marketing and execution ideally including retail marketing, BTL demand generation, Social and digital tactics
  • Adept at building integrated marketing plans, budget management and campaigns development/execution across multiple marketing disciplines
  • Direct experience interfacing with retail partners and a proven track record delivering growth/performance metrics.
  • Understand the digital and physical buying journey (omni channel), well-versed in sales channels, commerce platforms. Expertise landing and coordinating cross-discipline marketing programs and sales programs.
  • Track record of marketing execution excellence and ROI through planning, operations-savvy, creative execution, readiness and analytics/insights
  • New product launch planning and execution experience
Experience managing ambiguity and rapid change - demonstrate agility and risk-taking * Experience of the Asia region and working across a multi culture and multi geo virtual team
