NETWORK ENGINEER (F5 LOAD BALANCER)What skills/attributes are a must have:
5+ years of experience in F5 BIG-IP LTM, DNS and ASM ,A10 is required.
5+ years of experience on other modules on F5 product suite is preferable but not required.
5+ years of experience enterprise Cisco routing and switching is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of cloud-based software load balancer like AVI
Understanding of firewall platforms, domain name system (DNS), HTTP/HTTPs, Linux, etc.
Nice to Have:
F5 certified is preferred but not required.
Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will be assigned to work on service requests relating to CREATE, MODIFY and DECOM virtual server objects coming from app customers that requires load balancing in their application.
Perform consultancy and engineering with customers requiring load balancing in their end-to-end application.
Work on engineering projects revolving around F5 product suites (i.e. BIG-IP LTM, DNS and ASM ,A10) such hardware (installation, configuration, upgrade, enhancements and improvements), software (upgrades, configuration and improvements).
Participate as a resource in a monthly rotation in troubleshooting P1/P2 incidents, providing assistance in war room, root cause analysis and problem analysis and management.
Initiate and develop innovative ideas through automation, new technology discovery, process improvement and other cost savings initiatives.
Provide knowledge transfers to peers, colleagues relating to unit's technological alignment, engineering process and new technologies.
Experience of creating technical high-level designs, low-level designs and implementation plans.
Provide effective engineering by demonstrating ownership and accountability for all assigned tasks and projects.
Partner with Infrastructure Leads, and third party service providers in the conception, evaluation, piloting, engineering and operational delivery of solutions for the organization.
Define, document and adhere to technical and operational standards.
Maintain detailed technical documentation (e.g. standards, process, Method of Procedures, Run Books).
Ensure all tasks are completed with high quality and timely execution.
Strive for best in class teamwork by regularly stretching and consistently measuring execution to a high bar.
Provide input and participate in strategic planning sessions.
Provide technical leadership to peers and junior personnel within Infrastructure Engineering.
Provide forward thinking and be agile in adopting new technologies to meet evolving business requirements.
Provide peer reviews to deployment engineers to ensure design compliance.
Review and recommend process changes.
Coach and mentor other engineers on best practices.
Work with Project Management / Design Teams to translate initial scope into actionable items.
