Job Description

Primary Overview:

• Provides nutrition science support for Pacific Asia affiliates in the areas of scientific material development, messaging development and science substantiation of Abbott products.

• Develops scientific materials to communicate the science behind Abbott products
• Ensures accuracy, credibility and global consistency of nutrition scientific messages and claims substantiation
• Works effectively within and between cross-functional teams including Food Scientists, Regulatory, and Marketing members, to provide scientific and technical support and leadership for new product ideas
• Represents the Organization in scientific committees and meetings including preparation of nutrition-related materials for technical meetings
• Provides scientific input in the conceptualization and design of R&D clinical nutrition studies.
• Provides support and prepares reports, proceedings and scientific publications

• Master's degree or PhD in Nutrition Science
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive research experience
• Strong nutritional knowledge
• Well established knowledge and understanding of the scientific basis for the creation of the Dietary Reference Intakes and their application throughout the life cycle
• Have a general understanding of food science and its application to Product Development, Regulatory requirements to assure appropriate labeling for products
• Strong familiarity with methods of scientific investigation
• Should be familiar with evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships and networks with culturally and technically diverse groups, required
• Good organizational skills
